Appointments help desk to rearrange appointments are very rude don't put customers at first priority. 3 hour notice today Just to change or cancel appointment you get mouth at very unprofessional. My self work for NHS but north side as a soft service manager I never had this problem. Future reference use different hospital even I live in the area. Rating 1/10
Only draw back is parking ques are huge with long wait times to get into the car parks. Best to set off a god while before any appointment if you're driving. All staff are really helpful.
I recently spent the day in the day surgery unit and I must say from arriving at 7am to leaving at around 15.30 every person I met from the Nurses who checked me in and walked me to theatre, the Anesthetist, Registrar, Consultant, recovery Nurses and the Nurses who cared for me on the day care ward where outstanding. They were all very friendly whilst professional, they could not do enough for me and everyone they cared for. I watched them together and they all plended as a team, rare in the NHS but Barnsley Hospital excels at it. Thank you
Lack of communication between the hospital ward and social worker. My mother-in-law has dementia and had to spend time on ward 19 with Covid, there's a lack of communication to my husband about her discharge. Everyone blames each other while she is stuck there with a shambolic discharge plan. The social worker is useless, we have spent time off work preparing for her discharge only to be told it wasn't happening because of the lack of communication. It's apparent that there's little or no thought to the patient or the family. Perhaps next time the vets would be a better place as pets are treat better than human beings.
Huge thanks to all the wonderful staff on ward 23 for helping us through the hardest days of our lives, and guiding us through my wonderful mum's end of life care. The care they gave her, and us her family, was so lovely. Each and every one were so caring and understanding, special thanks to Becky Mum would have been so grateful. Thank you xxx Edna's daughter
I have recently had surgery for cancer, and from my initial appointment right through to my hospital discharge I could not have been better looked after. The level of care I received was of the highest order and I will be forever grateful to all involved. Thank you.
Just been to urology investigation unit having had blood in urine. Fantastic staff and great service. Need operation so sent on way but hospital phoned within 2 hours and date fixed. Could not have got better service if i had paid private so very grateful to all concerned.
Barnsley hospital is a wonderful hospital. The staff are courteous and friendly. Always willing to help. The doctors are so efficient. I have had nothing but great treatment there
Really tired of them telling us to wear masks, half of the staff don't bother and they show no exemption tags, i will refuse to wear one, it doesn't stop covid. It's an irritation and I wear glasses so I can't see when I wear them due to them steaming up so much. Without my glasses I can't see, which is a risk. So stuff the masks. Apart from this, the care they provide is brilliant.
Stayed in Barnsley for 2 weeks had twin babies, all the staff Doctors nurses, cleaners were soo good and helpful. Excellent care services provided. Thank you Barnsley hospital staff.
