A really lovely place to visit, just right for couple of hours of walking around enjoying gardens. Lots of small gardens with different themes, plenty of benches to sit and admire the views. A nice little cafe and shop and plant nursery too.
This was my first visit to Barnsdale Gardens, and it wont be my last! Full of beautiful gardens, and heaps of inspiration for my outdoor living spaces at home, this collection of gardens has so many stunning ideas. We also enjoyed having our lunch in the cafe, and I cant wait to visit again!
Nice day out in my opinion a bit pricey ! £12 no concession elderly/disabled Took disabled mother on mobility scooter most of garden was accessible .Few parts were not we were advised on entry which parts .Not many disabled parking bays. Disabled toilets and cafe accessible .Good food and coffee lovey outdoor seating area. The garden is made up of individual gardens in my option the plants were a-little bit repetitive in some areas . I would have liked to see more gardens which stood out as being very different due to plant selection and not just landscaping like the hot / Mediterranean and the Japanese /oriental garden. Worth a visit and will properly go back at a different time of year printed off the email when joining newsletter online and get it stamped on entry and get half price entry next visit .Join the tea room email list and get offers each month too!! There was a Small garden centre a bit expensive didn't stock all the plants in the garden which was a bit disappointing .
Beautiful gardens. I wish my garden looked as good! The tea room has yummy cakes and you can enjoy it outside as well. Restrooms: I didn't use the restroom, but they are available.
A lovely afternoon spent here wandering the beautiful gardens. The afternoon tea here was the icing on the cake. A lot of effort was made ensuring my gluten-free tea was as good as the non-gluten tea, thank you!! A real hidden gem for Coeliacs. Well worth a visit
Visited Barnsdale on the 2nd of June, what a glorious place! We were blessed with fabulous weather and good company on our trip to the gardens. I would recommend the gardens and Helenium tea rooms to anyone. Great food, excellent service in the beautiful garden area. We will definitely return later in the year to see how the gardens change with the seasons.
A superb place to get real world garden ideas. Well worth visiting throughout the gardening year. Excellent tearoom.
Gardens in full bloom today and not at all busy. Lovely breakfast too.
This is such a delightful place to visit. It's beautiful, peaceful & full of wildlife. For those of us who remember Geoff, you can really sense his presence, even now. You also gain a huge impression of his abilities, and of just how hard he worked. For newer/younger gardeners, there are so many sources of inspiration, easily adapted to whatever size plot you have. If you forget your notebook, they very sensibly sell them in the shop, together with DVDs of Geoff's programmes & lots of other goodies. If you never saw Geoff on TV, I thoroughly recommend the DVDs. He gives very clear instructions & is very easy to follow. The Tea Room is currently serving to outdoor customers only should change on 17th May. There are plenty of well-spaced tables in the lovely Tea Garden. A good range of light meals & excellent homemade cakes are available. Make sure you visit the nursery: there are lots of unusual and very well grown plants, and you will find many of the ones you see in the gardens. If you live near enough to be able to visit a few times a year, it's worth considering becoming a member. We can't wait to go again!
So much to see, really need the whole day to do it justice. Well laid out and suitable adjustments made in light of safe distancing etc. But all very easy to follow and people respectful. Many many different styles of gardens to wander round. Great tea rooms, well priced meals, big portions. Well stocked nursery. Lovely place to visit.
