I gave birth at Barnet Hospital a couple of weeks ago, and I had a very positive experience overall. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the staff and midwives who supported me throughout my stay.nI had a difficult delivery, but the midwives were incredibly helpful, caring, and supportive from start to finish. I would especially like to thank Jetta, Jee, Georgia, her student, and many other staff members whose names I unfortunately cannot remember—my apologies for that.nI was discharged on 20 May 2026 at around 6 pm. The doctor who carried out my discharge was also very kind, polite, and calm, which made the process much easier for me.nBoth my partner and I had a very good experience, and we are truly grateful for the care and support we received.nThank you to Barnet Hospital and all your staff for the amazing job you are doing.
I had a terrible experience. At the Maternity Unit, I waited over 7 hours because of reduced baby movements, lower back pain, and abdominal pain. I had my 1-year-old baby with me because I had nobody to leave him with at home. We were there from around 2–3 p.m. until 10–11 p.m. Considering that before my first baby I had a history of 3 miscarriages, and with the baby I gave birth to I experienced sepsis complications during labour and had to undergo an emergency C-section because his heart rate was dropping, the situation was extremely stressful for me.nnOn top of that, there was a particular lady working the second shift in the Maternity Unit on the date 20.05.2026 — unfortunately I could not see her name. She was blonde/light brown-haired, wore glasses, and was extremely rude. She deeply disappointed me and honestly made me no longer want to give birth at Barnet Hospital.nnWhenever I went to ask her how much longer it would take for my case to be reviewed, she would roll her eyes and clearly showed no care or compassion. I cannot describe how much stress this caused me — I genuinely felt like my blood pressure was rising beyond normal limits.nnBecause of people like this, hospitals receive negative feedback.nnI keep thinking about how frightening it would be to be giving birth or going through a difficult moment and be treated by someone with such a rude attitude.nnI believe a hospital should provide trust, reassurance, and safety, especially during the difficult moments of pregnancy. Some women may already be carrying deep physical and emotional pain, and then someone like this completely destroys their morale instead of offering support and compassion.
Large hospital with totally inadequate parking space. It is impossible to find parking. In the end I parked further away in a pay and display bay and then took the bus!nnFinally turned up at 9:20 for a 9:30 appointment, despite being there at 8:50 to look for parking.nnFinally seen around 10am. Doc was great when I got to see them. 1 star.nnWent to get bloods taken. Receptionist was super friendly. 2nd star.nnPhlebotomist was a tad rude when I first went in. Apparently called my name 3 times totally mispronounced and I felt like I was being told off because I didn’t understand they were calling my name - bizarrely my name wasn’t on the board.nnGot bloods taken and then called back because she missed some - lucky I was still in the building.
A HUGE thank you to all the maternity staff at Barnet, who took excellent care of our daughter and precious newborn grandson! It wasn't straightforward, but their exceptional skills, and great kindness, made the whole experience as positive as possible.nnWe are so grateful to you all
The hospital was very busy, we were waiting for a very long time that Friday evening... but there was a very nice gentleman that was very kind and supportive in the children's A&E. He really made everyone welcome and was trying his best to accommodate and help everyone fast. He have probably started his shift later that evening and just welcomed parents and children back from the Main A&E at 11pm to children's section.nThank you for everything.
