A good seafood restaurant in the East Midlands, with excellent service! The starters were okay although the spiced carrot soup was a bit salty. We had the trio of fish and grilled lobster for mains which didn't disappoint. Desserts were too rich, but in a way that complimented the savoury dishes. Very friendly and attentive staff!Food: 4/5
Had lunch here with 3 business associates and the venue, the service and the food were all excellent. The menu focuses on seafood with a few steaks, lamb and pork options too. Prices are not cheap lunch for the 4 of us was £175 but the quality of food is first class.Food: 5/5
Absolutely fantastic place to go for excellent food. The staff are brilliant, very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
I enjoyed this place, I'm surprised I've never been before. I had the Sunday roast, the Yorkshire pudding was fantastic, meat was well cooked, veggys fantastic. Not all that expensive either. To top it off service was considerate, attentive and actually had personality.
Visited on the recommendation of a friend and wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. The choice of wines went very nicely with the fish and lobster that we enjoyed the Sancerre was a great match. Nice to see Chateau du Breuil Calvados which went down particularly well with my lobster. The Chutney served with the Cheeseboard deserves a special mention. The bill came in at about £190 for 4 of us including about £50 for our drinks.
Been tonight especially for the lobster. Had the mixed sharer starter with prawns, calamari and fish cakes which was really tasty and a decent amount of food. I planned to have surf and turf but sadly due to a gas problem there was a limited menu available. Main course had lobster with garlic butter and I wasnt disappointed. Didn’t have any room for desert although they looked good from what I saw others having. Great meal under difficult circumstances for the staff, so wanted to say a big well done and I will be back another time to get my posh surf and turf.
Service ok, friendly staff. A little expensive for what it is. Item on the menu was different to what came out and the excuse was that they were trialing new things? Or customers preferred it this way? Or they just decided to change the way they served it? Not sure what the reason was in the end. Just a sorry we messed up would’ve been better. Was taken off the bill after we had to ask… shouldn’t have had to ask. Beef was really good, dessert nice. The rest of the table enjoyed their meals too.
Excellent quality and service in very pleasant surroundings. Great atmosphere. Fish dishes were delicious. A great night out. Parking: Plenty of space
Had an amazing first year anniversary meal. The lobster was divine and the seafood linguine was the best I’ve tasted. The staff were friendly and I can’t wait to go back there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant it’s simply the bestRecommended dishesGrilled Lobster, Seafood Linguine
I've been here a few times now and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal, and this time was no different! When we arrived it was very busy, definitely wise to book to avoid disappointment. We had a beer in the bar downstairs and then after a short while were taken to our table. If you haven't been before the décor is lovely, fairly classic with a subtle nautical vibe, what with it being called Barnacles. To start I had Pan fried garlic & chili prawns, which came with some fresh crusty bread, perfect serving and absolutely delicious. Main I went for the Monkfish wrapped in pancetta, which came with a white bean & mussel cassoulet served with purple spouting broccoli which was sublime, full flavours and tasted really fresh. We also shared a side of green beans and new potatoes, which were both delicious. We decided to push the boat out groan and have a pudding too - Salted Caramel cheesecake with Chantilly cream & honey comb pieces and it was a great finale to an excellent meal
