Visited Barnaby's fish restaurant while the Xmas markets were on. Timed it quite well to get in there as we managed to get a table to be able to sit down. It was very busy in there, a long queue to do your order. It was worth the wait, our food was brought out to our table. A good sized plate, lots of tasty chips and they had a gd colour to them too. The Cod was nearly as long as the plate! The batter was crispy and not greasy The Cod was thick and so white, it was very tasty, I really enjoyed my meal. Would recommend eating here, but try not to sit near a door, as it did get a little chilly in there at times. Price seemed fair for what we got, most things are going up in price
I last visited this place about 15 years ago and it looks like it has had a change of ownership since then. From my memory the internal decoration was similar, but there are different pictures on the walls. The biggest difference was in the food, the last time the fish and chips was good and of course a lot cheaper back then, but this time around it was one of the best fish suppers I remember eating. Although the weather outside was dreadful the staff were quite delightful. I will definitely come again, but hopefully I won't leave it so long in-between visits
Very good food, best fish and chips I had in ages. The cod was fried to perfection the fries and curry sauce was something to die for. And they had a very hot manager named Joseph, soo cute and served us well with a smile.Food: 5/5
Would have loved to sample the fish and chips here but sadly they only take cash. Find it disappointing and to be honest bizarre that in prime location on the waterfront of Stratford no card payments are taken. This place would definitely bring in more money if they take card payments with let's say a £5 minimum order, esp in the summer months. Hopefully they reconsider this.
Hefty queues and prices great you first and foremost. But if you’re patient there’s a tasty meal to be had. The chips are great. Well cooked and not powdery. Generous with the salt and vinegar too. The fish is fine. Nothing outstanding though and the batter too soggy for my liking. The best bit is the location and you can take your meal and chomp by the riverside, watching the world go by.
Fish, chips and peas for me. Excellent quality, the fish was delicious and the chips were to die for. Peas were tasty and served separately My grandson had sausage and chips , he tells me the sausages were lovely and so were the chips. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and attentive service. We will definitely eat here again when we visit.
Great location over looking Bancroft canal basin.good value, open all afternoon friendly staff. Fish was freshly cooked. You can wash it all down afterwards with e pint from the wetherspoons just 5 minutes up the streetFood: 5/5
Very nice setting, opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Marina. It's Quite a large place, with seating inside and outside for approximately 60-70 people. The food was excellent, and good value for money, But Surprisingly it is CASH ONLY. TheFood: 4/5
The best fish and chips I have had for years.Freshly cooked and a good portion. The staff were friendly and I hope I can go again soon.
Fish and chips were really tasty! Friendly and quick service, definitely recommend. Adults and children happy with their meals. Kid-friendliness: Good kids menu.
