My daughter has been going to Barkston nursery now for the past 12 months and it has proven to be comfortably the best decision we made. She has come on leaps and bounds in her time there, letters numbers words and communication better after every single lesson. Every single member of staff has made her feel so welcome and she can't wait to go on a morning. It's lovely aswel as my 4 siblings all attended the nursery over the past 15 years and the family values really shine through. Thank you to you all for caring for Betsy Bish just as much as we do
My little boys as been going to Barkston Ash nursery all year. We are so happy with the care provided by the staff. They very attentive to the children needs. The facility are great with a secret garden at the back. By far the best nursery i have ever seen. Would highly recommend to new comers.
Barkston Ash Nursery is a wonderful nursery I would highly recommend it. Both of my children have attended the Nursery. They both absolutely loved it, they were so excited to get in and find out what adventures they were going to have that day. The practitioners are warm and friendly. They have lots of experience in early years teaching and my children progressed within their literacy and numeracy skills which really helped prepare them for school. The learning opportunities in the nursery were outstanding, and there was always something exciting and new planned for them. The learning was also planned around my children’s interests which was great when engaging them in areas that they wouldn’t naturally explore themselves. The practitioners gave lovely feedback when collecting, they knew my children so well, and always had a lovely story to tell me about their day.nThe really special part of the nursery was how well they had established links within the community of Barkston. I loved that the children visited the Care home to sing carols at Christmas and also that they had sports day in the grounds of the care home so that the residents could watch. The nursery also had visits to a forest school provided so many new and exciting opportunities to explore. I also loved the community that the nursery itself created. They held coffee mornings where I could meet other parents, some that I have developed friendships with. This also gave me chance to chat to the practitioners and get to know them. The Nativity and Graduation was also amazing, so much planning and hard work must go into to them, but seeing my children taking part was so special.nMy children left Barkston nursery confident, sociable and ready for school. They were so cared for there and still talk about nursery now… there is nothing more I could have wanted in a nursery. It is fantastic!
The nursery and staff are amazing, the care and attention the children receive is brilliant. There are nurseries closer to me, but both my daughters go here as I wouldn't want to them go anywhere else. The 'busy boxes' are brilliant as my children bring home the work/paintings/drawings they have done each day. To be rated by ofsted as 'outstanding' is testament to the work they do day in, day out.
My husband and I recently moved to the area with our 3 year old little boy. Our son had never attended a nursery before so I was nervous and worried about him settling in. Thanks to all the staff at Barkston Ash, Jax settled in within a few weeks.nThe staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make parents feel reassured. Due to covid parents are not allowed into the nursery and hand overs are carried out at the main door. The staff have a mothering feel to them so hand overs are not as hard as I was thinking they would be.nnThe first couple of weeks of attending Jax would cry when being dropped off. I would always recieve a telephone call within the hour reassuring me that Jax had calmed down. This was so nice as many parents can relate the hardest thing is leaving a child when they are sad.nnBarkston Ash provide the children with a 'Busy Box' which comes home with Jax. It is always filled with artwork which he has done. I love this idea!nnBoth my husband and I want to say a huge thank you to all the staff. We honestly believe Jax has settled well with the move thanks to all the support he has received from everyone at Barkston Ash.
