We have shopped in barking for ten years now, the difference between meat you have you buy here and meat from supermarkets is huge, this is proper food and you can taste it, the selections good , ham for example is nice and dry like it should be snd the sausages are to die for, highly recommended!.
Moved to Benfleet and wanted to support local butcher so visited Barkins more than a few weeks ago, wasnt going to write a review but then felt so disappointed decided to so butcher aware & can feedback to their supplier. I bought 2 pieces sirloin steak to cook same Saturday evening, the butcher brought out from back and opened a new vacuum pack of beef and cut from, cost £18 for good fresh steak don't mind paying. Unfortunately very disappointed, most of steak very tough, sinew, and at least half of each unable to chew ended up in the bin.
Great family run butchers. The quality and variety of the meat is excellent. The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable.
