Really lovely site. We had a week here on the wild camping field. We are at the Moody Cow twice for evening meals and once for breakfast. All meals were really good. The Steak was cooked to perfection, the sizes are generous and the staff all very friendly. Showers and toilet block were very good with baby changing facilities in both male and female blocks. Cleaned daily. We had a morning at the Moody calf play barn which the kids loved. Selection of drinks and snacks available. The farm shop is stocked with plenty to have a variety of food if you are having a BBQ or eating in your caravan. Good selection of drinks in the fridge too. The one thing that was missing for me is a shared fridge/freezer that campers could use to store food or freeze ice blocks. We had some very hot weather and couldn't buy anything that needed to keep cold which was a bit of a pain with a child with food intolerances.
Lovely two night stay with my son on this fantastic site. Staff were friendly checking in and out and the lady running the shop is a gem with good banter. Another guest I got chatting with said it's one of the best sites in Wales, highly recommend.
Fantastic 4 night stay in our motorhome, staff were so friendly and a special mention to the lovely Jason and also i think ‘assistant’ manager Rhiannon who were particularly attentive following an incident with our dog no fault of the campsite whatsoever We had Sunday lunch in the Moody Cow Bistro which my husband loved, I was slightly disappointed, I think my expectations were high looking forward to local produce, the vegetables in particular needed a lot more TLC in my opinion, however overall experience was very pleasant and serving staff were so friendly and great service. We will 100% be back, a fantastic site, huge pitches, and good facilities.
A lovely touring caravan site which is on the main road which makes it easy to find with Aberaeron just a few miles down the road. The site is well laid out and you can book a pitch with a hot tub! Pay extra for that. The moody cow café serves great food, with locals using it so you know it's good! Recommended you book a table there, especially for Sunday lunch. Everything I have seen here is nice and clean with no rubbish around the site or pitches. This is our first time here and we will definitely come back again. If you do decide to stay here, book well in advance as the site is very popular. It well deserves the five star I gave it. And you can follow them on Facebook to get the latest updates.
1st time visiting with our Motorhome for 1 week stay and will definitely be back. Welcoming and friendly staff on reception, pitches are great size and big thank you for our pitch next to disabled toilet, impressed by the hot tub's on some pitches, lake, toilet block well maintained and immaculate, disabled toilet had a small issue which was raised and within 10 minutes staff attended to fix. Moody Cow shop is well stocked, reasonably priced, and very friendly service. Moody Cow restaurant is so welcoming, comfortable, deliscious plentiful home cooked food, great coffee, well stocked bar, dog friendly. Thank you to all the staff at Bargoed Farm Campsite for making our stay a very memorable experience.
We spent a week here on a pitch with a spa, in a tent. Definitely need rock pegs and a stout hammer for the handstanding. The site was beautifully maintained. Showers and loos are immaculate and cater for disabled. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. A lovely little shop selling local produce. The Moody Cow restaurant was lovely serving delicious food and takeaway. There is a play area for children and and an indoor bookable playbarn. A walking route to the coast path from the site. Very dog friendly
Mororhome/Caravan pitches were separated by shrubs which gave some privacy, and were quite spacious with a drinking water supply. Ate in the Moody Cow for breakfast and dinner and it was very, very good. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
Very nice place, a warm welcome and great pitches. We booked a pitch with hot tub, the perfect way to end a day of walking round the towns, New Quay, Abaeron and Aberystwyth all reachable by bus which stops at end of drive. The Moody Cow restaurant and bar on site is well worth a visit too.
My favourite campsite ever. Love the area, love the site and the staff and owners are always so friendly and helpful. We've been 3 times and I can't wait to go again. They also have a lovely wedding venue I'm hoping to book for when we get married I love it there that much! Safety: Hot tubs emptied and refilled every time. Site is immaculate, good facilities. Walkability: Great walks Food & drinks: Lovely onsite restaurant and bar. Playground: Play area with rocks on! Restrooms: Lovely and clean, they've won several awards for these.
The campsite is beautiful, the facilities toilets and showers are very clean. The hot tub was so chlorinated i couldn’t sit in it without my eyes burning. I paid £18 for wifi for 7 days for 2 devices and it only worked maybe 50% of the time. £400 for a pitch for the week, and I couldn’t use the hot tub. Instead I had to sit listening to the ongoing construction works happening which we were not forewarned about. Sitting listening to diggers and saws is not my idea of a holiday. They tout themselves as a family campsite but there’s nothing for children to do unless you want to pay £3.50/2 hours in the play barn soft play. There’s plenty of room on the grounds to install a playground of some sort on the camp site itself but they wouldn’t be able to charge extra for that so they don’t seem interested in doing it. Food at the play barn cafe was decent, £25 fed two of us and our child. Never ate at the bistro but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is good. The farm shop sells a big variety of posh cheeses but couldn’t get paracetamol… I did voice my complaints when we checked out 3 days early and all I got was an apology, no offer of any kind of refund or amends. I said campers should be offered a discount at the soft play or they should install some kind of play equipment up by the dog field for children staying at the camp site… when we went to the soft play I didn’t see any other campers there. They essentially have multiple businesses on the one site and everything is extra at this camp site. A load of washing was £4! That being said all to the staff were friendly and helpful. Again the toilets were very clean. It was a lot of money £400 to go listen to construction works and not have anything really to keep kids entertained. I would say this is a site more geared towards adults and falsely marketing itself as a family site.
