The 5 stars are solely for the staff at the Bishop Auckland branch. The were all fantastic and helped me out with an urgent problem, and I thank them very much.nAs for Barclays the organisation, they would get 0 stars. Closing my 2 nearest branches 1 town and 1 city branch was truly appalling.
Barclays - the bank that keeps on closing. Now Durham has gone after Ferryhill, Sedgefield, Newton Aycliffe, Spennymoor, Barnard Castle etc etc so guess what Barclays - Bishop is great because...well its still there. Loads of people wanting to use the counter so of course only one staff on it - but staff hanging about to 'help' with the self service which so obviously they're not happy about using.nPost script.nSee the joke of a reply..says nothing and thus says it all.
Today I had the worst experience ever at a Barclays branch. Bishop Auckland I visited to deposit cheques totalling £10k. No counter open and the machines in this branch don’t read certain cheques like other branches. 2 staff members talked to me like I was stupid and really annoyed me told me they couldn’t take the cheques under any circumstances then told me to go to the post office. As a business user who deposits vast sums of money each year it’s appalling. The manager then arrived as I was getting irate and took my cheques and my bank details and told me she would deposit them on Monday. Clueless, inept and unprofessional idiots running front of house. No apology after either. Staff customer care training is a must in this branch. Please forward this to the branch and hopefully they can learn from their mistakes or maybe get better competent staff.
I had a very good experience at this branch BUT you could improve my experience by reopening the branch at my home town. I tried to use the hub at Newton Aycliffe but my requirements exceed £500 so I had to travel 14 miles to and from the bank. For this reason I can only award you 2 stars.
Barclays at Bishop has contempt for its customers ! I would give it a zero ! But it won't allow me !
