I'm not able to rate them 0 star. Absolutely rubbish service. Staff is not very helpful. One can not printout any statements from bank if need urgently.the whole way of banking changed.its time to close down accounts with barclays as can not travel 5 miles to branch and be hours on phone calls and still your problem is there.
Only just opened an account. They said can you could you come back in tomorrow as we need to do more checks. Was a nightmare trying to get in to town. Got there and all they said was "yeah that's fine you'll receive your card in 5 days". You could have emailed or texted or phoned to tell me that.
Wanted to withdraw large amount of cash but wanted larger denomination notes in good condition for exchange overseas where top quality condition is required. Asked to do this but was refused counter service by Barclays representive in foyer saying could only use machines. Ended up with large amount of cash from machine that was in poor condition, which I will be Unable to use on holiday, waste of time. Unhelpful staff terrible customer service, now have to try and get good quality notes from elsewhere. Noted that the counter staff were not serving anyone and just chatting. Been a Barclays customer since 1976, time for a change of bank. Noted numerous bad reviews,maybe Barclays should actually do something about the poor service in this branch. Reply as stated in my review I clearly explained to the member of staff what I wanted, they were just not willing to listen or help.
An update as at mid-August 2024 - a big thank you to Daniyala looking after the queue, Daniel who listened to my enquiry and to Mendeep who was wonderful, and who dealt with me in a most kind, caring, patient and courteous manner and who has hopefully resolved a very stressful situation for me. I cannot thank you all enough. I hope that the relevant management staff are made aware of this latest review of mine. A direct debit I had previously cancelled in person at this bank branch as well as my informing recipient, who confirmed cancellation, had not been actioned with the amount having been debited last month This is the SECOND time I have experienced this problem with Barclays, ie direct debit not being actioned! However, Mandy dealt patiently and sympathetically with this issue this morning, assuring me that it had been actioned and issuing confirmation printout, so thank you, Mandy!
Been on numerous occasions as been my bank over 18years and never had any problems. Staff are always helpful and polite. Hope branches remain open.
I came to the bank today because I wanted to settle a problem with the transaction. I was sure that the woman who works there to help the customers would help me but I didn't get any help. I don't understand how you can be lazy when it's her job. She told me to call online and get it sorted. My question is who will reimburse me the time and money to come to the bank? I do not recommend. I think that because of such a situation I will close my account on Monday and go to another bank.
Friendly staff in one of their few remaining branches but the whole business seems as if they have contempt for their customers! Trying to set up a first account for a child has been a nightmare and I gave up in the end, 6 weeks before first appointment available!! Online video banking appt. failed to materialise with no explanation or apology. HSBC had an appt. free in 1 hour on the day. Shameful.
Bank specialist didn’t give a solution about the app and advised “just try reinstall it and wait for the code again for a week”. That is all. The worst service I have ever experienced.
A complete useless bank , the ATM machine only for cash dispense, returns most of notes back no way to pay in. Understaffed bank hence long waiting time up to 45 min. Now wait till bank is open. Will change my bank not worth the inconvenience.
I have to say Jenny is a superstar, I went in there like a little lost pup and she really is a diamond. cant fault her at all, she made everything so easy and had fantastic banter. I went in so stressed and having a banker like her really makes all the difference to these kinds of situations. Can't sing her praises enough, wish I was Adele so you see how grateful I am, as soon as I sat down I felt like I'd known you my whole life. Stay golden Jenny and with you being so amazing I really wanted to share my experience with the world. Thank you so much. Did I mention how amazing Jenny is? :
