We're a privately owned restaurant in Leicester offering our customers a taste of Spain.

Story

A little something about us...
We're based on Queens Road, in Leicester. A lively area, perfect for a cosy family meal, a romantic date for two or a fun filled evening with friends; we aim to accommodate for all parties.
Barceloneta serves freshly cooked tapas, inspired from areas of Spain, the Mediterranean and North Africa. A little something for everyone to try. We have a spectacular early week menu, offering a selection of our most popular dishes as part of deal, available Sundays Mondays and Tuesdays.
We always recommend booking a table as we never know how busy we will get until the evening itself.
We have a wonderful extensive selection of drinks, including beers, wines, spirits and cocktails, as well as the traditional, most popular Spanish cocktail itself, Sangria.
We've created this page for our customers, their friends and family, and for staff and ex-staff. For keeping up to date with the goings on in our restaurant; special events, deals, changes to our menus. And for sharing your experience- we'll post some photos and please tag us in your photos and posts.

We had a lovely dining experience there. The waiter explained the menu very clearly so that we knew how to pick the right dishes for ourselves, especially in terms of portion. The seafood paella and stuffed mushrooms were served hot and delicious! Leicester is lucky to have this amazing restaurant.
Amazing food and service! Everything was perfect, the buratta paired so nicely with the pesto my favourite and loved the paella, chickpeas were a bit watery but everything else was packed full of flavour , I would definitely come back again 10/10 Food: 5/5
It was my first time there and must admit I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious. The portions were generous. I tried the fried goat cheese balls as many people recommended them, and now I will do exactly the same. It is a must!Food: 5/5
We had an exceptional dining experience at Barceloneta The food was absolutely amazing, with a great variety of authentic Spanish dishes that transported me straight back to Spain. Each dish was bursting with flavor, from the perfectly cooked paella to the delicious tapas. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Claudiu the chefs recommendations were spot on, and all the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. We highly recommend Barceloneta anyone looking to enjoy genuine Spanish cuisine with great service. We will definitely be returning!
We had a great night at Barceloneta this evening to celebrate the end of our uni exams! Our server, Kieran, was attentive, polite and generally lovely! Food was delicious, very flavoursome and a great Spanish atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
Pleasantly surprised I went to visit my cousin who's studying in Leicester, I was extremely surprised at the quality of food in restaurant. My wife's Spanish so I know a little about Spanish cuisine, the food was super authentic. The crocequettes were incredible. The only difference I could find is gambas pil pil doesn't have tomatoe in spain, but we ordered gambas in garlic olive and chilli. So of the names don't match up but I think it's because the chefs south american, so things maybe different there. The front of house was attentive enough but not too attentive , which was just right. I belive his name was shaun, he looked from an indian background. If management see this give this man a raise or a healthy tip, amazing chap! Price wise compared to London was incredible value, its hard finding tapas that's responsibly priced in the UK, but this place successfully achieved this. My only gripe is some of the dishes should come with bread. We spent £14 on bread alone, which was a bit silly , some maybe if the management could include this with some of the dishes that would be great.

Visited Barceloneta for the first time this week. We started off with a couple of drinks from their sister bar next door and i must say that £10 for two cocktails this good in quality is nothing but a bargain. The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable and were able to recommend drinks they knew we would love. We then headed to the restaurant and were greeted by a very friendly waiter who took us upstairs. The seafood paella, beef meatballs, goats cheese balls and chicken and chorizo kebab were divine and took our tastebuds right back to Spain. Overall, great experience, hands down to Roberto for a great service, we will be visiting again soon!

I consider myself a foodie, and this bar and restaurant exceeded my expectations. The menu showcases a perfect blend of traditional and modern cuisine, prepared with the finest ingredients. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavors and beautifully presented. The bar boasts an extensive selection of spirits, and the bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. The atmosphere is vibrant and lively, making it an ideal place to gather with friends or enjoy a romantic evening. This establishment sets the bar high when it comes to quality, and I can't wait to return.
