Excellent care provided to help me with recent health issues and the reception team have always been professional and kind to me since i joined the surgery. The online triage works well for seeking appointments or guidance without waiting on the phone and would advise others to try the service and also sign up to the NHS App to access test results easily. I have seen first hand how busy the surgery is, and certainly deserves more funding, but to the staff currently working under significant pressure you have my gratitude.
Moved from another Worcester surgery to Barbourne. I cannot fault them. I can’t praise them enough. They are friendly, welcoming, knowledgable and proactive. The medics are genuinely caring and go above and beyond time and time again. They listen to patients and understand that we know ourselves best. There’s no waiting for hours on the phone, no getting fobbed off, there’s no comparison with the surgery I’ve come from. The bad reviews appear to come from people who expect the world and more from a struggling NHS Service. I have no problems with my prescriptions being sent to the pharmacy - in fact they did it within 10 mins for me last week to ensure I could get my antibiotics before the pharmacy closed. Using the online form, I have got every appointment I have needed within the required time frame. When I needed an emergency appt, I used the call back service, spoke to reception within 15 mins and I was seen the same day and like I said, went home with the antibiotics I needed. Today Dr Harris called me just to see how I was, and if there was anything more I needed - this phonecall wasn’t requested or booked. I feel very lucky to be a patient here, especially with my complex medical needs.
I’m reluctant to give it 1 star. They insisted my father go into surgery when we requested a home visit. Despite my father’s frailty,, the surgery insisted we attend and upon attending, Dad fell and cracked a rib. We didn’t know about this until paramedics attended and found bruising on his back. He was taken into hospital where they discovered he had cracked a rib and fractured his lower lumber vertebrate when he was sent to RESUS. There they discovered that the patch on his back the surgery prescribed for pain relief for his leg was not being metabolised by the condition of his liver. He died 3 weeks later.
I was supposed to pick up some blood pressure medicine. Some incompetent person at the reception said that I had to wait even though I had sent a request for medicine 5 days earlier. Where is the logic here? Isn't health more important? Who will be responsible for loss of health or life? Lady from the reception?
Today I booked an appointment for my daughter. When I saw doctor harris he saw I was unwell and assessed me too. I left with blood tests being done on the same day and antibiotics. I know how stretched services are so I really appreciated his time to assess me too.nnI’ve recently had to utilise the services here for myself and my daughter and I can honestly say the surgery have been fab. The new call back system is very overdue but brilliant! The staff have been friendly and helpful and all referrals that I have needed have been in a timely fashion. So thank you!
