On Valentine's day me and wife both took off from work and decided to start the day with an amazing breakfast. We decided to go to this place. The whole place has a beautiful nature fragrance of bakery stuff. We decided to have poppy seeds Bagel with cream cheese, Cappuccino and egg sausage ciaba. Our breakfast was delicious. Mine best were the sausages which were made with the perfect combination of herbs & spices. Overall we loved it. I highly recommend. Sharing some photos. This place has seating outside.
People travel miles to come here me from Yorkshire I'm on a nostalgia fest, I used to come here in the 1950's through 1970's when I lived locally. Polish and Italian food and drinks, I note there is now an outside seating area for hot drinks and eats, plus a BBQ area. I bought a selection of Salads; Nutty Ham and Polish Sausage for friends I'm a veggie and Poppy Seed Cakes to take back with me, all yum carnie friends loved the meat. Accessibility: Ramp to the right, then level. Car Parking: On street, however, there are extensive road works for installing cycle lanes. I was however able to park on a side street. Bus: Chorlton Library stop very close. Staff: Very friendly and helpful. The store was quite busy, but I did not have to wait too long to be served! Definitely worth a visit!
My friend and I enjoyed a little browse of the shop as well as a breakfast pastry from the counter- the pecan one I chose was nice and sweet!Food: 4/5
I pop in Barbakan most Fridays to pick up stuff for lunch and stuff for my mum too. Always a great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and great food on offer. Probably the best beigels and tomato bread I've ever tasted.Food: 5/5
A very clean halal and tidy deli and bakery with olives and meat options with artisan grocery selection of basic dry staples and lots of interesting sauces and other delicious things in jars. It's often a bit crowded and you can expect to spend a few minutes in the queue but it's popular for a reason. Their meats, breads and chees selection is always tasty and obviously high standards.
I ordered uber eats. Food was fantastic. They rang me to tell me that they run out the sandwich i ordered and if i wanted to change it in a very polite way. It wasnt a problem for me, and they gift me 2 croissants. BrilliantFood: 5/5
This place offers wide variety but fails in quality. I was just so disappointed. From stale croissants, and doughnuts, through green tomatoes on sandwiches, overbaked baguettes a baguette is not meant to stab your gums with hard crust, to inaccurate cheesecake. Y'all, Polish cheesecake is not made with this kind of cheese the cheese is ground thrice and the sour flavour comes from sour cream, not from american style soft cheese, topping is meant to be plain or thin and delicate instead of overbaked crust e.g. a thin layer of jelly. The quality of this place is simply lacking, the price is grossly high, the service is rude ladies that do not know how to communicate with customers politely actually annoyed that I made a big order?! And that i had to pack it in my bag before moving across the whole shop to pay?!
Outstanding service and PROPER cold meats which are FAR cheaper than Tesco or Sainsbury's or Waitrose. An AMAZING selection of traditionally baked goods that are fresh each day. This place is wonderful. A great asset to South Manchester. Get some cash. Support a local business that employes local people and provides an authentic and superior service. Kid-friendliness: Lovely big terrace perfect for children families and their pets....
Great selection, but very confusing why there isn't any form of ticketing queueing system. They have a ticket system for the sandwiches when you order. So why not have it for People? Similar to traditional butchers. Queues are a free for all. Feels like you are at a bar instead of a bakery. Even when its not busy, it is awkward to get served. As They all seem to be busy.
A fantastic venue offering a wide variety of delicantesan foods, cheese, pasta, olives, jams, bread, cooked meats, pesto, sausages etc. Not only thst you can get jot food, coffee/tea to take away or consume indoors or on the front terrace. Highly recommended.
