Great health club, glad I joined. Love the facilities and the choice of classes. I wish the water was warmer in the pool it’s so cold. Also the jacuzzi is full of men that sit there for long periods of time you don’t get a look in! Thank god women’s facilities are separate to the guys. Had a Swedish massage special August half price deal. Very disappointed - it didn’t start till 4.25 even though it was booked at 4.15 and then it was finished dead on 5.15. I had 50 minutes not 60! I didn’t feel the therapist used enough pressure during the massage, even though I requested it. She replied it was a light to medium pressure only ? Surely she could have applied more pressure
It was a good spa day experince with 3 mini treatments each. Id say it is quite basic and the hire cost for robe and slippers isn't really worth it, we had different robes and mined was particularly short. The pool was nice to use and jacuzzi and relaxation room was ok. Complimentary water or herbal teas after treatment would not go a miss. The treatments were nice but could have been better.
Not the spa experience I was hoping for! I had a Buyagift voucher to use, so I opted for a spa treatment package that included two massages and a facial at this club. In hindsight, I wish I had just received cash instead. Pros: The staff were absolutely wonderful—friendly and attentive. The wristband system for locker access was a clever and convenient touch. Cons: The changing rooms are seriously outdated. I noticed multiple flies in both the shower and changing areas, which made the whole place feel neglected. Everything needs a significant upgrade or, at the very least, a deep cleaning. It felt like stepping back in time. The flooring in the changing rooms was so old and unappealing that I was reluctant to shower or even put my feet on the ground. Charging for robes, slippers, and towels felt like a cash grab—especially since this was supposed to be a relaxing experience. The spa lacked inclusivity. It was uncomfortable having people walking through while I was in a swimsuit, and I wasn’t thrilled about the separate saunas and steam rooms for men and women. The massages were disappointingly short and too gentle. The so-called relaxation room was awkwardly located in an isolated area. The entire layout of the spa needs rethinking. It’s a confusing maze, and the various spa facilities should be closer together. I left feeling not only disappointed but also slightly under the weather, as if I had picked up a cold—definitely not the birthday gift I was hoping for. I won’t be returning unless the place gets a serious renovation. Even my gym from ten years ago was in better shape than this!
Went here for a treat with my girlfriend. The massage was very good despite the masseuse not being very talkative but I have to say the rest of the spa was a let down. The pool is small and crowded and the chlorine is way too strong. Other customers were spitting and throwing up into the showers which was off putting and I just found the overall experience not very relaxing. The hire costs for the robes etc is pricey and the staff tried to get us to buy some over priced moisturiser at the end.
This gym is great for people who would like a quieter gym, it’s not busy during the day and mostly busy in the evenings. There are not many assisted machines, and could have better investments in this area of the gym. The track is great, and so are the weights, cardio area. The body extension machine is placed in the middle of a busy area and can easily result in an injury if someone walks by unnoticed on a busy day. The pool and jacuzzi are nice, the changing rooms are okay curtains for changing look a bit cheap, the showers need to be cleaned more or replacement for new doors and shelfs within, the steam and sauna area directly outside shower also needs some touch ups in terms of cleanliness and aesthetics. Overall it’s okay. Not the best but not the worst. Parking is a nightmare, by the way.
In need of modernisation & a warmer jacuzzi! Spa treatments, though late to start, were lovely. Facial, head massage & mini ? back & shoulders, really great with quality Elemis products. The facility, good stuff first - although separate, the steam room & sauna were spot on. Changing rooms & poolside; good overall basic facilities but boy, what a blast from the 70s. Refurbishments needed! Lovely relaxation room & the staff were professional & attentive. HIDDEN COSTS: if you're coming here for a spa treatment, expect to pay £8 per robe plus a £20 deposit per person. Obviously a steath charge to subsidise high energy costs. Result? I take my hard earned money elsewhere.
We booked a spa experience which was fairly affordable for most people. Honestly the spa facilities could be better as the steam rooms are tiny and gender specific & the one jacuzzi can comfortably fit about 5 people. The treatment rooms are nice & the gym looks of good quality. If your looking for a half decent spa afternoon or morning this is a good option.
Sitting in the “spa lobby” while writing this. Sorry to say this is an awful experience. Changed my massage because I’m a man and she couldn’t touch a man. No one had told me where any of the felicities are. Staff are rude and unapproachable. Acting like I’m taking up their time. The lockers do not work well and are not safe. Locker rooms are dirty . Nothing is comfortable, sad sad experience
We had a spa day with massages. Entrance reception. We managed to get the last two miniature prosecco's. However we had to drink them out of plastic cups. Paid £18 each for a bag with a towel, slippers, robe and a locker key. But you get £10 each back when you return the bag. Spa reception. When you get inside you don't get a tour you kinda just get told that way to changing rooms and to come out to reception in time for your massage and then you kinda look around for where everything is. Changing rooms. Decent, clean and there's a hairdryer you can use for free. Little sections where you can do your makeup and hair. Bring your own hair straightener. There are even little sections you can get changed in if you dont feel comfortable getting dressed in front of people. Swimming pool. I loved the pool I like how they have a slow lane and fast lane and that it's all one level depth 1.2 m. Nice lil chill out spot. Jacuzzi Is on a timer so you get your time and then it goes off. You have to wait 5 10 minutes and then it comes back on. Nice relaxing spot. Relaxation Room Nice place for just relaxing and the water beds are really nice. Only negative the chatty girls not allowing you to just relax. But didn't mind too much as we all enjoy in different ways. Massage Iv had better, it was a lot of pressure at times and non the rest. Asked which areas you would like us to focus on, you tell them and then they don't focus on the area much at all. I'd come again but will advice that I'd like a sports massage rather then relaxing. The Starbucks Machine Love love love nice and strong. Overall I would come again. Liked but room for improvements. Better fancy prosecco cups please. Massage in the area of focus.
Spa treatment was booked for today, I arrived 20 mins before treatment time, was kept waiting in the lobby, had to go upstairs to complain, rude and unapologetic staff, treatment started late by 15 mins yet she finished on time meaning I only received 45 mins instead of 1 full hour. Returned home more stressed than I actually was in the morning. Don't recommend and won't be visiting again.
