Friendly staff with lots of useful knowledge on the services they provide. Plenty of modernisation including automatic pay-in machines and ATMs. Never overly crowded.
My last 2 or 3 visits here have been extremely poor. Due to covid rules, I, along with 5 others waited outside because no one was around the entrance to invite us in. I arrived 30mins prior to closing. Branch was empty yet we waited 10mins outside in the rain and then were rushed in at same time, by which time 2 of the customers had left the queue. The machine then didnt work. It took me 25mins to put a few notes into my account. The restricted opening hours help no one. This branch will eventually close as a result of such poor service no one will want to use them.
To have only one till open on a Saturday prior to new year is not only stupid but puts customer services to the bottom of their priorities! There seems to be more staff walking in around with tablets rather tending a till.. There are people old and infirm standing needing attention and being constantly asked if they can be of service, the resounding answer is "man a bloody till, please"!
Unfortunately I don't think a 0 star option is available. Sign of the times, as individuals are replaced by automation, fair play I guess. What I dislike is, the almost lynching by front of house staff who have been primed to sell sell sell. Recently one member of staff told me "we're not a charity you know" ; frankly, if a small business retorted with such a comment customers would not be so tolerant. Like most people, a financial institution is necessary unless your employer will transact with a hidey hole under your mattress. It's no surprise either that ATMs are being removed. I wonder if external machines located as part of new out of town shopping centres and not just in a pedestrianised town centre location might be better. While people are using cash less, it follows that if ATMs have not been relocated or additional provision made to site them alongside updated commercial zones, they will be used less which reinforces Institutions actions for the closure of ATMs, especially in rural environment.
The staff seem friendly enough but often there are never enough tills open. I don't go into the bank that often but the last couple of times I've had to leave before being served as I couldn't afford to wait more than 15 minutes.
I have banked here for many years. Staff very attentive and mist times I have been served in reasonable time. No business is perfect but I'm happy with this bank.
Many thanks to Benn and Nicola for all their help and support. X
Best and most friendly bank in the galaxy
