I was travelling through but couldn't get in, the number didn't work either. There was a light on but no one answered when I knocked. Please make it more accessible!
I was going to write a message of support, but John UNMIK summed it up perfectly. I'd like to second what they said Newtownards is a great wee town and we are proud to support the Muslim community. Everyone is welcome is Newtownards Peace
ALL PEOPLES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WELCOMED IN ARDS. Recent attacks on this Community are both wrong and totally unrepresentative of the way the original Newtownards people feel. Old families such as mine that have been here since the earliest days of the town and instrumental in its development. We have at times had large waves of outside peoples been imposed upon us as well as the steady stream of families that naturally join the growth of the Ards population. Never have we attacked those peoples in this way and those families are now here several generations. The "other peoples imposed upon us" that I refer to are not from other countries , colours etc, they were from Belfast ,our capital City just 12 miles away but they were EQUALLY ALIEN TO ORIGINAL FAMILIES. WE DID NOT ATTACK THEM even though many of us had our homes and businesses demolished to facilitate the influx. These people have not even been imposed upon us nor have we lost our homes to accommodate them. THESE PEOPLE DESERVE TO LIVE HERE IN PEACE TO ENJOY THEIR HOMES AND COMMUNITY AND HOPEFULLY JOIN IN THE SOCIETY THAT EXISTS HERE. PLEASE MAKE THEM WELCOME AND REJECT SUCH IDIOTIC ACTS OF PURE HATRED THAT WILL ONLY GIVE BIRTH TO MORE HATRED AND SO THE CHAIN CONTINUES. Love and peace will break the chains of hate that allowed this attack. I do not know who these attackers were or where they were from but ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF ARDS I APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.
