Banff Post Office

The Banff post office USED to be the go to place for disappointment, let downs, and unorganized chaos that rivals most reality TV. Now...I'm not usually one to write bad reviews and I am glad I waited because I am super stoked to say that some incredible changes have been made in the last few months. Warm, welcoming, helpful, caring and kind are just a few of the recent updates. Just watching how the team interacts with each other behind the counter is wholesome. Also very big ups to Kyle. He has helped us out a plethora of times and is always patient with us. He has taken the time to explain to us how the mailing system works and how to get out post and packages. Big thanks to Kyle!

Just had the worst experience there. I have a PO Box, my tracking number that says that my parcel was here but the clerk did not find it on his computer and just refused to check with my name. He sent me home and told me to come back with the delivery notice card, you know the same cards you get 10days after the maximum pick up date. He was just the rudest person I ever dealt with. If this place was a regular business it would have shut down years ago, the worst customer service you could possibly imagine. Update: went back and talked to another clerk and guess what? my package was there since December 30th and I still never received the notice card to this day.

One of the worst...if not THE WORST Canada Post locations / businesses I've ever been in to. They take FOREVER to sort mail and are always making up some sorta excuses as per why they haven't gotten to mail that's been marked as arrived / received for over 2-3 weeks. I moved to Banff 7 months ago and got to use General Delivery free for the first 4 months and then after that they tell me that they'd "Prefer I've I start paying for a PO BOX" but can keep using General Delivery if I want to...so I proceed to tell them I'll do that and then the employee refuses to let me pick up my two packages and makes me pay $80.00+ for a PO BOX and tells me he can't even find my General Delivery account LOL

I wish I could give this place zero stars, or negative stars if that were a thing. Worst postal service I've ever had in my life. The people are nice but the line is always out the door. I regularly wait 30 min just to pick up a package. Packages are often mixed up or returned. They randomly close without any warning, and their hours are too limited for most residents, so everyone ends up waiting most of their lunch break during the week. If there are any entrepreneurs out there who own a postal service, please come to Banff. We are desperate.

By far the worst postal service I've dealt with. I had put my parcel to ship to my street address by accident so I called Canada post to change it to general delivery. I was told it was put on as a note and should be ok. The package was instantly returned do to "incomplete address." This has happened multiple times. This is pure negligence to even look in to the parcel's information. If you can avoid using Canada post I would. I've had nothing but problem with this place. There's been no attempt to help the customers at all, and definitely no attept to repair the issues here.

Edit: sad to say, years later this post office is still the worst. Returned a package that had 9 more days before returning to sender. Package is now missing, and no one can tell me where it's gone, or how I got a final notice with the item apparently never have been there. Pay more money, save yourself the headache and send via currier. Always a line at least a 20 minutes wait, and always behind sorting mail/packages ie. order something from Amazon, and Amazon will say it's arrived, but it could be a week before there is a slip in your box too pick it up.

Have lived in this town for over 30 years and have had the same address for over 30 years, a parcel I purchased was delivered to the post office, they returned and told me my street address was undeliverable even though I asked how to get it 15 minutes after I received the email it was undeliverable and was returned back to where it came from. Now out of my purchase and and they could care less, this situation could have been easily resolved and I am not the only one this has happened to, it's becoming ridiculous to have any dealings with Canada post.

Definitely the most chaotic post office I’ve ever heard of. Only go here if you must. Their hours fluctuate by the week, seriously, you can never know if they will actually be open during business hours. Always allow 30-40 minutes for the inevitable line. I live here and must have a PO Box but never bother dealing with a human there, better off going to Canmore.

I actually wish there was a 0 star. You have completely ruined Christmas . My daughter who lives in Banff is by herself without her Christmas gift because you have decided for the last 4 day to not put her parcel through which I’ve paid extra for expedited service. Her parcel has been there for 4 days. She went in to ask if there was any way they could look for it and was treated very ignorantly by the person working. Never using Canada Post again. Thank you for ruining Christmas for my daughter Scrooge. As long as you and your family have a good Christmas who cares about any one else!

New Policy which I am sure is Banff specific. Not only do they not deliver anything in the first place. They will return any package received, back to the sender if it has a street address, and not a PO box number. If it is within feet of its rightful owner, it will be sent back to Europe or china instead. 4 thumbs down.
