Bandook
"One of the finest Indian Restaurants in Bath, Bandook Restaurant offers an Indian street food dining experience. Our story began in Bristol, where the passionate and highly experienced team behind the award- winning fine dining Indian restaurants Mint Room in Bath and Bristol, had a vision to create a modern, casual dining, Indian street food restaurant. A restaurant which would be fun, relaxed yet creates a “wow” factor with its cooking. This is exactly what they did with the intimate and informal Bandook Indian Kitchen, in the desirable, neighbourhood hub of Bristol’s Wapping Wharf."

Excellent food, excellent customer service, just truly excellent! We ordered 3 small plates, lamb chops, juicy and tender. Fish fritters fried in spicy gram flour, lovely and crispy. A chicken wrap. A brioche bun with minced lamb and a portion of chick peas cooked in a spicy tea. Topped off with a Hendricks teapot cocktail. I was going to choose a dessert but opted for the chocolate espresso Martini, a great choice. The staff were amazingly attentive without being overbearing. We can't wait to visit Bandook again.
Excellent food! Want some good Indian food in Bath come here! Very friendly service and the higher end of moderate prices. They have a meal-in-one 'Tiffin' lunch vegetarian/vegan/non-veg for a reasonable price - and served in a very Indian style tiffin box! Delicious. Try it!
Excellent food. Nice interior. Music volume loud enough to hear and add to the atmosphere but too loud so it would disturb you. Service very friendly and helpful. Gave good advice on what I ordered. Would totally come here again. Our uber driver Shakir recommended the restaurant. Good call Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options
Father & I were down in Bath for a 3 day weekend. I found Bandook courtesy of a Google map search for Indian Restaurants. First impressions upon walking in are favourable. Nice decoration, old photographs with hand painted captions upon the walls and a positive atmosphere. Comfortable table seating as well as a selection of booths are available. Every member of staff greeted us with a sincere warmth to their smile. We had Alice as our server on our visit. A very happy, joyful and personable member of staff. She answered my menu queries and checked up on us at polite intervals. The food. Wow, truly a tremendous meal. Every bite of each dish was delicious. Most Indian meals I have had previously offer a couple lumps of meat with a enormous serving of sauce. Bandook employs chefs with a keen eye for spice and flavour. Each bite unravelled in my mouth with colour and depth. Flavours I had not encountered before warmed my throat but not with discomfort, but with a mourish delicacy of taste. A thoroughly decent meal we both enjoyed and would recommend too. If you've read my review or viewed my photos you must have some curiosity about Bandook. Try it, it is very worth while P.S Particular attention is to be paid to "Old Delhi Style Butter Chicken"
This place is absolutely fabulous. The staff were attentive, kind and couldn't do enough. The food was a superb variety of Indian tapas. We ordered too much, but couldn't help eat every bit. The cocktails made by Eric were also sublime. 5*
What a terrific restaurant! Fantastic Indian food evolved and served in a classy, happy and professional manner. My wife and I were so relaxed and made very welcome on arrival. We were served in a perfect way by Lisa who was the best server in Bath for this visit. Tusen Takk! Alladin was a lovely friendly man and was faultless. I did notice the bartender serving some wonderful looking cocktails. Bandook is spotless, clean as a whistle with the best food and staff. Thanks David and Elizabeth Saunders
Loved the food. The Railway Curry is a niche idea historic Indian/British connection and was lovely, the lamb especially tender. Service was unfortunately not the greatest. A little slow to take orders, though the food came quickly, and no-one came to ask if food ok, until taking plates away. It was quite busy but only a Thursday night. Food and location beautiful decor and great outdoor setting more than made up for the service issues though. Vegetarian options: Yes, several on the menu
Probably my favourite works Christmas meal ever. Food was fantastic and certainly makes a change from mass produced bland roast turkey mains everywhere else. Staff were great and helpful explaining everything. Only complaint would be they didn't have draught beer at the time.Food: 5/5
Not a very pleasant experience to be honest.. Food first, soso. A 3/5? Goat curry isn’t flavourful enough there are much better ones in my reviews, lunch set portions are quite small, be careful if you’re going in with an empty stomach. The chaats are okay, I would say a 2-3/5.. Service, hmm I would suggest not to go there if you’re planning on a quick 45 mins lunch, it takes ages to serve, even if you successfully managed to get an eye contact for assistance from the manager, there’s a high chance you will be ignored. I do hope this is due to short staffed? But short staffing on a Friday during this festive season hmm.. last but not least, remember to check your bill before you tap to pay, there are way too many tables there to get the table number right..
What a dining experience! Simon and Abdul Rahman have really excelled here - I assume they were the GMs with the way they hosted guests and took orders. The food was fresh, tasty and made with unique bases common in some desi restaurants to cheat and use the same base for all dishes. The flavours were authentic and the freshness of the halal meat was worthy of the price. It is great value for money and was worthy for our 2 visits in 2 days. Keep up the great work!
