I've been using Bambridge Accountants for nearly a decade now, as a US-expat living in the United Kingdom Northern Ireland, specifically. I made the mistake of falling for the allure of a Big Four for a short period, and the quality of work and the personal attention Alastair and his team paid to me and my account was far better and at a far more realistic price. I highly recommend Alastair Bambridge and his team to any US expats in the UK

I had a terrible experience. Frankly, I know a bit about taxes and generally prefer to do them myself but moving to a different country created more headaches and this place had good reviews. I had a call with Alistair where I told him explicitly what I needed: I had realized I could ‘roll back’ foreign tax credits from the year of my move and get a refund. I also knew there was a strict deadline for this. He said they could do it. I sent them everything they needed. Despite multiple follow-ups it took them almost a YEAR to get it done … and they messed it up entirely. I got a letter from the IRS outlining all of their errors - the entirety of which were that what they filed didn’t match my previous filing. This can only be chalked up to utter incompetence given they had my previous filing to copy from exactly. I ended up having to spend hours over my Christmas holiday figuring out how to fix it and do it myself including writing a letter to the IRS asking for leniency on the deadline given it had now passed. During this time Bambridge replied to one email saying they would look into it and then NEVER RESPONDED again. And that’s why I am here: they now have the audacity to continually send me marketing emails begging to do my UK taxes after they 1: took ages to attempt my US tax amendment, 2: did it totally wrong in the most incompetent way, 3: never replied or bothered to try to remedy the situation. What an absolute joke of a business and waste of my money and time. Avoid at all cost unless you literally need the most basic of things you could do yourself in 5 minutes.

Bambridge Accountants have prepared my US Federal and state tax returns for the past 2 years. Their service is quick and I've received my refunds shortly after  my returns have been submitted. I will continue to use their services going forward.
