Visited the Balance Inn whilst on holiday in the area. Good size car park & garden. Very friendly, warm welcome. Excellent Sunday roast in a 'proper' country pub. A great range of beers & ciders on draught, offered samples of them to decide which one to have. Lovely chocolate brownie & ice cream for dessert. Good range of burgers, & wood-fired pizzas on the menu as well. Will definitely be returning before the end of the holiday, and next time we are back in the area. Highly recommend. Parking: Plenty of room for about a dozen cars, we had no problem parking.
We’ve just come back from this little place. It was our first night out without children for a long time and we were in need of a good feed. It was surf n turf night. The dish we had chosen had ran out of the steak cut. So we opted for a different steak but the the other trimmings. The trimmings we found out has sold out too and we must say the steaks weren’t great. BUT listening to others, I’d say we just had the poorer cuts as everyone else seemed to love theirs. This sounds like I’m complaining , I’m not. As we mentioned our issues and they adjusted the price. To which we paid more as they deducted too much. The started were amazing. Great selection of Drinks. And most importantly, we were listened to. The fact that they ran out of stock shows they were busy and popular. As for the steak. It happens sometimes. This is a great place and the staff were brilliant. We’ll return for sure. I can only give this 5 stars as despite the little upset, what we did have, was exceptional! Well done
Lovely place, the sunday roast was absolutely the best we have had in a long time, delicious desserts and what a pleasure to meet such friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, dog friendly is a plus. Thank you
A lovely humble village pub, full of character. Reasonably priced drinks and a good selection from locally sourced breweries. We had the rump steak and the ultimate burger and they were fantastic. A great evening, we will be returning soon!
A local pub for local people. Good atmosphere unless you end up in the modern extension/conservatory. In response to the reply to my initial post, the food we ordered was taken into the conservatory by the pub staff and so we assumed this was where we were meant to eat it. No-one said we should not use that room or suggested an alternative place to eat it.
Lovely meal, good choice and warm mulled wine, very seasonal.
Popped for a drink at The Balance and was not impressed think it could do with some TLC..Service: 3/5
Went on the 27th October had a Sunday roast, the food was amazing not to much also the beef cooked to perfection, veg was not overcooked so you could taste everything. The puddings were wonderful, staff were really brilliant and helpful. We will definitely be going back there again. Thank you so much guys.
I am very lucky to live in Luston so only a short walk away for me. Fantastic pub with fantastic food. All reasonably priced, great atmosphere and dog friendly. Well worth a trip if you do not live local.
Just had the most wonderful Christmas meal in the Balance inn. Fantastic surroundings with a great festive feeling.Staff are amazing and friendly and the range of ales and beers are testimony to the Cask Marquee award. DEFINITELY the best pub in the area.
