1st class. I have just ran the Derbyshire Dale's Half Marathon Trails run from here. £6 parking for all day. Can't fault it. A beautiful part of the country.
The showground hosted the Derbyshire dales trail run.nnGreat Location. Lovely views and plenty of parking. Payable via ticket machines. £6 all day.nnNice and flat open show ground.nn4 minute walk from the car park to Bakewell
This was a great place for the holding of the trek 26 Alzheimer's society memory walk, which I did for my nan who passed. The town is in a beautiful area the old stone buildings are stunning, the place does get busy but it's a peak district gem hidden in the rolling hills.
Bakewell festival is a yearly event which is worth a visit but it’s not cheap. £5 to park the car then another £16 per person to enter the venue. Its mainly stalls to buy expensive gifts, mostly dog stalls or craft stalls. A couple of fairground rides. not many at all. Plenty of eateries, plenty of toilet facilities. I was surprised how many dogs were there but no water bowls dotted around. You have to buy your own water for your pets. I was a bit let down to be honest. A very expensive day out and little to see except spend at the stalls.
Parked here to go into town centre.short walk to centre crossing bridge over river. Cafe and toilets on showground though didn't use them.
