A wonderful site. Exceptional facilities, very clean and well set out. Brilliant views from the site, close to excellent pubs. An easy cycle to and from the Monsal trail. Farm shop on site sells their own products. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would return. Highly recommended.
Great place staff were friendly and polite. However the sovenier were over priced. You may find better prices from local shops.
Lovely place for a walk around, great bakeries, and independent shops. River has huge fish in the summer that you can feed! Beautiful old buildings and architecture too
Lovely visit to Bakewell yesterday. Worth a visit or stop off if you are passing by. Many artisan shops selling the food, teas/coffees, drinks, cakes and gift items. One of our favourites we came upon by chance was a small, tucked away sandwich shop called Relish. Soooooo worth the visit. The vegan and vegetarian sandwiches and rolls are worth the visit alone.
Great day out with so many cafes, shops. Couple to mention are, The Ginger Butchers, JH Mann fishmonger, Cheese and Wine Emporium and The Bakewell Cheese Shop. Great stock of fresh produce and very knowledgeable.
A lovely well stocked visitor centre.
Very nice staff, very helpful, nice shop, located in the middle of town, car park right next to it
Bakewell was lovely, quite busy mind I suspose with it been the children's summer holidays. Plenty of shops gift shops and lots of places to eat and drink and lots of artisan shops down little nooks and crannys, plus traditional Bakewell puddings. A lovely walk along the river very pleasant, and there's a lovely park for the younger children. A pleasant town to visit, and very dog friendly.
We entered with no idea on what to do in the area and left with an abundance of helpful information and our plan for the day. Staff were super passionate and knowledgeable on the area and provided us with so many options for our limited time in the area.
Nice little visitor centre with all the information on the local area and walks available. Gift shop was okay at best though. Very few magnets or trinkets to actually buy as gifts
