Today 01/05/24 I arrived close to closing time to grab a bag of sharp sand. Approaching the door to the garden centre area, we saw a man locking the door. As there was still 5 minutes till the store was closed I asked if I could quickly grab the bag of sand. He literally said “no, I want to go home”. Obviously terrible customer service and just plain rude! Annoying when I don’t live close to the shop. Safe to say I will be taking my custom elsewhere.
I’m pretty sure that the requirement of employment in this store is to be as rude, unfriendly and unhelpful as possible. I’ve come back a few times thinking I may just have encountered someone on an off day but each time, whichever member of staff I’ve encountered - the experience has been the same. This store is handy but I’d rather spend more or buy off Amazon than give them any more of my money.nMaybe the managers could start with having staff crack a smile or acknowledge their customers in anyway, as I assume actual customer service skills is too much of a stretch.
They sold me a broken item and when I brought it back they said they wouldn't accept it and wouldn't let me return it. The staff gathered around to oppress me. Don't give me a clear explanation. they kicked me out when I wanted to talk clearly. This is called fraud and irresponsibility.
Great selection of items, staff could of been more helpful, found items marked down in price, but was not the case when we got to the till..
We visited on Sunday 14 Jan 24 and wanted to get some paint made up - we were served by Fatima who was sooo helpful and soo calm and nice and even when the paint was mixed, she saw my nervous face and ensured that I was happy by popping a smidge of it on the matching valspar paint colour card and drying it with a hairdryer to show the final result was spot on. Her enthusiasm and knowledge was just perfect - it was such a pleasure to have met and dealt with her - she is a credit to the branch. Thank you Fatima.
