Great spot, literally open your door and you’re on the beach. It was pretty noisy until around 11pm with cars going up and down seemingly racing each other. Despite what the local authority website states there are no waste or water facilities, it used to be in the corner of the car park but looked like it had been closed some time ago.
Don’t stay here overnight!!nWe stayed here last night arriving at 5. Signage to safe access to avoid huge speed bumps is poor. Kids used the car park as a racing circuit until late into the night. They shouted, beeped their horns and played loud music for hours. Signs everywhere telling motor home owners not to sit outside their vans along with a list of rules. Very noisy again at 6am with a huge horse box and tractor using motor home parking bays to access beach.nSign deemed sea water quality poor soo no chance of a swim. We saw what looked like raw sewage coming out of a pipe into a river leading to the sea.nOn a positive side the sunset was lovely and so was the walk to Greenan castle
Really handy stop over option on the front in Ayr. You can pay via app which I found quite easy to use. It’s a tenner a night and you can stay for up to 3 nights. You can stay for several hours the morning after too I think. They have several motor home bays. There are public loos which charge about 30p you don’t need correct change as they take card payment. There’s also a cafe and a good Indian at the bottom end too. It’s about a 15 minute walk into the town of Ayr which has some really old school pubs and eating options. Boy/girl racers do use the carpark at night and the other motorhomes did move on. The youths left around 2230. I didn’t find it too much of a problem as I’d had a few ales in Ayr and found it quite funny. If you’re in a mother home then approach the carpark from the north end to avoid being landlocked on the massive speed bumps!!
