Axminster power tools offer a good service with a wide range of tools and products for many trades, I have noticed that they dont seem to carry as many hand tools as they used to. I have ordered online but as i am not to far away i tend to drive down and shop in person.

Came into woodturning recently when I finally retired, having wanted to try it for years. Bought the necessary stuff to get started, and googled everything I could to learn more.
  One thing I quickly found; Chestnut supply the absolute best wood finishes of every type you can find.... And Axminster are by far the cheapest and most reliable suppliers of Chestnut products. When you combine excellent pricing with superb despatch/delivery times, it's as good as it gets.
   A further fillip to this is that Axminster are also just about the best supplier of pretty much every tool and engineering requirement you could wish for.
   I can only speak as an enthusiastic amateur, but Axminster are just about the best Tool & Machinery supplier I've come across.

Going into the shop is fantastic, getting the touching feeling of those things you want to buy. Staff helpful, oh yes and very helpful. The staff seem to know what they are talking about, and if you ask a question and they don't know the answer - they don't try to blag it. I just recently bought a Veritas custom plane and the help to make sure I had what suited me was fantastic.  But buying products on line I'm very disappointed by the customer care. I ordered a Veritas Spokeshave first week in September, after changing the delivery times several times and it's now been 10 weeks I am understandably disappointed. The supplier may be at fault, but Axminster - you have my email address, you have my postal address, you have my phone number...... Where is the customer care  ? You know it only took Phileas Fogg 80 days to travel around the world and all I'd like is a spokeshave to be transported across the Atlantic or some kind of contact to say sorry but we are doing what we can to get you the product that was ordered 10 weeks ago and paid for 9 months ago.
