Got there just before closing time but I've been told they were still serving. Service was really good, really polite young lady served us. Decided to go for 2 Mojitos£8.50 each and a guacamole+tortilla chips £12, but I was really disappointed with both the drinks and the snacks. Couldn't taste anything but soda in the mojito, plus it had a single old sad little leaf of mint in it. The tortilla chips+guacamole were literally just that, which felt to me a bit overpriced for £12, guacamole was good though. Very average restaurant for me if not below average, plenty of better options around the heath, wasn't it for the service I'd give it a lower score.
We tried this restaurant under the eat out to help out scheme. Our food took over an hour to come, our starter arrived with our mains, which completely mucked up our appetite. And although the steak was very good, the bill came to well over £70 for 2 mains a starter and 1 glass of wine served in a filthy glass and a side. Massive disappointment. Felt a complete rip off for what we had even with the apparent 20 pounds discount. Shame really.
Fast service and healthy food. You know somewhere is a health focused eatery when they don't serve fizzy drinks like cococola and they bring sugar to your table on request. Most items on the menu are vegetarian friendly with more vegan options than the average menu. There was the odd bit of chicken and salmon and one dish with chorizo but little meat on the menu. They had some nice looking donuts and cakes at the front counter which I will try on my next visit . I had a smashed avocado on charcoal toast with salmon and a poached egg which was really nice. It was covered with Macha mayonnaise.... which was ok and added a subtle green tea style flavour to the dish.
Very disappointing. Popped in for breakfast after the local market as it was quite busy and looked lovely, I'm quite new to the area. Apart from the lovely decor there really isnt anything positive to say. My smoothie was bland £4.50 and they still use plastic straws. I was served this 'Avocado Toast' which was literally a slice of unbuttered sourdough toast topped with a plain avocado £5.80 I had to add my own seasoning to it, asked for some hotsauce/literally anything to give it some kind of flavour and it never arrived to the table. Couldn't even get through the bread with a steak knife and ended up eating it like the world's saddest slice of pizza.
Amazing food! Staff are super friendly and attentive. I'm lucky to have this place just round the corner from me. We go here often!
very good food and a very friendly atmosphere with a very friendly service and vege cakes which I love it
Was excited about this place as it is dog friendly and close to the park. A shame it took 45 mins for the food to come out. Also, no mention of the fact that VAT is added on top of prices listed. Food was decent enough but won’t be coming back.
Popped in on a whim - very glad we did. This is a spacious casual restaurant, with a friendly welcome from the staff and an interesting menu. We had the beetroot hummus and feta, and the mushrooms with shallots topped with sour cream. They were freshly prepared and delicious, with excellent coffee after. Prices were reasonable for the location and the quality of food, and the bathrooms were spotless. A great addition to the area - recommended!
Well first of all I would like to say that the staff were really really nice and helpful. The coffee I thought was really nice and the milk frothed properly I hate it when it comes out like foam and much to my pleasure it was smooth. The food is mediocre and my friend found hairs in her cake and her poached eggs, the poached eggs was under cooked too much as well. The cakes were dry, I wouldn't buy them again.
A wonderful spot right in Blackheath, perfect for lunch or tea with a girlfriend. The cakes are excellent with a large variety to choose from and the menu has a great mix of sweet and savoury. The new spring menu is out and looks divine. Definitely worth visiting when in the area
