Do not recommend! Stayed for roughly 3weeks whilst waiting on repairs to be able to move into my new property. 30+ weeks pregnant, not only did they put me in the attic which was a heat trap and dangerous as it was directly under the sun 10am to 1pm in 29°c weather, they truly expected a heavily and high risk pregnant woman to carry a hoover up 2 flights of stairs to hoover my room. Having your room occasionally hoovered is a standard part of being in a B&B as well as someone to empty your bins however you are expected to find the outdoor bins and dispose of it..... ALSO expect you to change your own bedding, duvet was covered in yellow stains and pen marks, but worst of all I found black mould on my mattress. They did change the mattress when I complained, however there is NO WAY that was missed prior to me coming, a complete lack of care for guests health. No apology, just excuses given. Hair in kettle I got a travel one for myself, cob webs everywhere, holes in walls, marks in walls, extractors filthy, marks on everything, carpets absolutely destroyed. Had builders entering my room to do repairs, that's absolutely fine despite not telling me, what wasn't okay was coming back at 1am to find my door wide open with a box in the way and goodness knows what materials all over my bedding, MY OWN property that I still haven't managed to get out and mess all over the floor! When I confronted one of the workers about it they just said "we have cctv", no apology yet again and no care for my belongings being left vulnerable by them! Window was broken, handle hanging off. Don't understand how this is a B&B when there is no breakfast part let alone anywhere to sit other than your room. They say if you need anything to knock on the door downstairs, which no one ever answers and you're lucky if someone answers the phone. It's a poor quality room to rent that you maintain yourself, nothing about this is a B&B. Had so many problems, I'm sure I'm forgetting something that happened. Was excited to leave. Awful conditions!
iI would not advise this guest house to anyone. The carpets are stained, the room has an unpleasant odor, and the bed and pillows were unclean. I would not consider staying at this guest house even for free.Rooms: 1/5
Booked in October for one person for one night, arrived on the day I was due to be booked in to be told they didn't have a room for me. I don't know how they managed it but they didn't have a room for someone who booked 5 months in advance. If you want a place to stay avoid this place at all costs.
I have come in here for an emergency stay, I have done nothing with my time minus try and avoid the workers here as there happens to be a negative spin on every breath I take. When I first arrived to my room there was no carpet, it was instead what the carpet should have been on, and even that was out of use, I was getting fragments of it tying my leg and leaving a burning sensation, after some time they decided time to do carpets, fine minus I was literally given 5 minutes to get evacuate for over an hour in middle of night. I hated doing this to be honest with you I had hoped it would not get this bad, but when the place you sleep has become a health concern, as you can see by the leakage of the radiator fluids, which happen to leave me with a sore sensation, and add fuel to my already flaming low mood, it becomes a bit harder to ignore, not just this watching how my friend was treated in here, sleeping on a bed that had a crack running through it is insane. I sincerely wish this establishment a positive existence. But being in a hotel where the owners or whoever they are can invite themselves at night in to your room, and lead with constant threats is hardly a sign of respect for your customers. I’m really surprised to see that such things that I had come to take for granted was being taken from me on a day to day basis, such as proper sanitation, that example of this was when the shower had broken and supposedly some people where using it and it was fine, although they never thought to take note off door or let others know this shower works, this issue has plagued this place on multiple counts, forcing me to go through them to get things done and they are no fun to deal with, and I already have low mood so it’s last thing I need, not just that they find the worst repairs possible, and would you be surprised if I told you the repairs don’t last? Also the videos I had posted was how my room got turned in to a stinking swimming pool, in the snap of a finger, I don’t know if it’s causing my organs to rot inside of me, they are telling me it’s just water but it could be other liquids, and they can cause great harm, my trust with them to be fair is running justifiable low, oh, they also said they will fix it yesterday they had over 7 hours on a weekday to stick to their end of the bargain, yet I come back to an radioactive swimming pool. God. I’m not even feeling all that secure writing this, as the last thing my mind is looking for is to but heads with others, but unfortunately for me my hands are quite literally forced. I’m hoping they will awaken their eyes and fix this place.
Cheap & cheerful. Abbey who greeted me was very helpful and friendly. Everything else was what you would expect for £55 per night. Adequate. Plenty of on site parking. I did not see any provision for wheelchair access and the main entrance was via a set of steep steps. Inside were lots of stairs. My room had en suite toilet & sink. The main bathroom & shower are shared. Tea making facilities & a small TV supplied. The room itself was small & in need of TLC. Reasonably clean. Towel, hand sanitizer, hand soap , body wash, shampoo, hair dryer all provided? No provision for breakfast. All in all, had everything you needed and was adequate but could have done with a lick of fire.
We chose this guesthouse because of the proximity to the University, as we were due to attend a graduation ceremony. The building is in need of some refurbishment and modernisation, but our room was clean and spacious and all the staff super-friendly. They allowed us extra time before check-out and also to leave our car, even after check-out, in the free private parking, monitored by CCTV.
The lady who seems to run it was lovely. Quiet and happy to answer questions or help though English was obviously her second language. The man - exceptionally rude and aggressive to the lady which judging from her acceptance was normal. Arriving late the door was locked, as expected. It took about 10 min to be let in though as the owner was not in the building arrived by car. We were shown in and up to our room quickly and quietly. The room required a lot of care. Once it may have been good but a lot of poor maintenance had let it down. I do give special credit for the use of a take away menu to keep the window closed. The beds were hard and the room noisy. There was parking available, the breakfast was sufficient and we were well tended with cooked food offered. Again - the lady was in charge of this and it was good. Payment by card or cash but not payable online. I wish her good luck but won't be coming back.
Have been staying one night every week sometimes two for eight months now. Never had any reason to complain. Rooms are clean well equipped and comfortable. Staff are very helpful and professional. Room rates are very reasonable and also include a full English breakfast. Large car park also. would recommend this establishment without hesitation.
The room was slightly better than expected. Breakfast was definitely over expectation, considering the hotel's standard, with yoghurt, filter coffee, and eggs on request. The woman did everything she could to keep us happy. Only the location was bad for our needs, but if you have business in this area, this is a nice place to stay.
Had a room booked, months ahead of when needed. Week before they cancelled our booking, blaming water leak, we said we should get another room as we'd been booked in for longer than most if not all others. We were told they couldn't possibly do that, and as fully booked couldn't give us anything else. Next day they suddenly have a room available but twice the price we would've paid. Funny that! Reading reviews think we dodged a bullet anyway!!
