Outstanding team and service. My company has been with Avalon since its inception, and they are professional, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Highly recommend.
We hired Avalon accounting to catch up on 2 years of business taxes after our prior accountant ran into family issues. At first it seemed like we were in good hands, but then I quickly noticed that I had more knowledge than the accountant who handled our file. Anyways he ended up quiting and then we were switched to one of the owner who handled our work. The process took a very long time, 6 months. We were happy with the service until we discovered that Avalon made us overpay the CRA by nearly 20,000$, it took us 8 months to recover that money Many phone calls later Also as we were ready to continue using them, we were told that they would not be able to provide service to us as they were short staff. The funny thing is, a week later I see an email coming from the other owner saying that were accepting new customers, which didnt seem right. We paid A LOT of money to avalon to get the work done, they are very expensive compared to other accounting firms we have used. We were quick to provide any and all information needed, and for what we paid, we received poor service. Our new accountant spotted many errors in their work as well, which came as a surprise. If you are going to charge top rates, we expect top service. Sadly that wasnt the case.
Outstanding service by knowledgeable and approachable professionals. They explained the work in plain language so that I didn't feel like I had to master yet another back-office function. Their straightforward and thorough process allowed me to get on with my actual work and business. I would highly recommend Avalon to other solo-preneurs!
Go elsewhere. I was stuck with an accountant whom I said from the start wouldn’t be a good fit with us. Owners didn’t listen and kept on. This accountant has me sign off on numbers, only to recant afterwards on several occasions. When I spoke with owners about this they just threw their hands up and said they were too busy with having so many cases and that it wasn’t priority for them since this wasn’t a trend. Couldn’t rely on accountant assigned to me to do the job right, and couldn’t count on owners to rectify it early. Owners are more concentrated on being social media stars than getting hands dirty to ensure client is experiencing what was promised.

Hiring Avalon was one of the best decisions I made. It allowed me to focus my time on bigger picture challenges while getting the detailed reporting required.
