Not a big selection of main meals for vegetarians only 1 candied roast which wasn’t something me and one of my party have a taste for and no sauces came with the roast unless you asked or they asked you, a selection would have been nice on the table. The steak dinner and Turkey dinner 2 of the party had and the hunters chicken was nice as well as the cheese cake. The sides we had and the cheese board was nice. The drink service is a tad slow.
Lovely pub. The food is delicious and the staff lovely. A mix of a big restaurant, but also a comfortable bar area too.
Great pub and the staff were super friendly. Dog friendly and this place is huge so even if you don't like dogs there is lots of space. Food was lovely and reasonably priced.
I was disappointed to know there was no Guinness available considering it's St Patrick's Day. The meals myself and my friends had were poor quality. Which is incredible considering it was just sandwiches and chips. The chips had obviously been days old because we had a mix of different chip types, some had been burned to a crisp and yet they still came out cold to the table. Even after having my meal remade I wasn't happy with what I received at all but since I had already sent it back prior I didn't want to cause a futher uncomfortable atmosphere for myself. After leaving here I went to the Ring O'Bells so I could get my much wanted St Paddy day Guinness.
Very friendly staff. Lovely place. Food was very good. Our dog was very welcome too. Highly recommend. Only one small criticism....our friend would have preferred a gammon that was not char grilled.
Really enjoyed our visit for dinner, the staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was much better than I expected. I would definitely recommend.
Service was very good and that’s about it. Food was poor, two complaints of cold food, soup was very average, main course turkey Christmas dinner had no green veg just served with a carrot, potato and turnip. Other main fish was nice but again served with just potato.. desert server with cold custard hardly any brandy sauce. And a bill of £110 - very poor
Service was excellent thank you Maxine! The roast dinner was great although we wish the vegetables were better green beans or broccoli instead of cabbage and we had to ask for a Yorkshire pudding. Otherwise a perfect visit. Loved it.
It was OK. Could had been better service wise considering there was not many people in at the time. Had to ask for a menu, then get someone to serve us. Some food was not available but despite offering an alternative, we had to remind the bar staff. Apologies given, but we felt the staff were not interested. Drinks was a long time coming - had to keep reminding.
The vegetables were very hard. We had the Sunday Roast and the roast parsnips were uncuttable , the broccoli and carrots were not much better. The meat was good. The service was good but after the main course we were deciding what we wanted further but for some reason 3 staff members asked us if we wanted the bill. We ordered coffee and mini brownies and were served them. The dining room had good ambience but we did feel like we were expected to leave before we were ready. Not the best experience.
