I’ve been coming to Dawlish for years as just love it and holds lovely memories. 1st time staying at Golden sands as usually stay at Dawlish sands. checking in and receptionist was good service, wasn’t meant to check in until 4pm, we arrived at 1pm and the lady in reception let us check in early as our caravan was ready. She was pleasant and very helpful. Our caravan was nice and spacious for a 4 bedroom. The forecourt was very muddy so left our caravan floor dirty on arrival. The site shop didn’t have much stock! Handy to have local supermarkets. Used indoor pool as October, pool very small but our 3 year old loves swimming. Clubhouse I found a bit run down. Toilets were dirty, should be checked regularly as had sick in one of the sinks. club does not provide enough tables for the capacity of the park. Had to sit on the floor until a table come available. The busiest night for Halloween and the bar run out of beer. Entertainment was good.
Have been here a lots over the years but this year was our 1st family holiday and we loved it.. the entertainment is fantastic my children loved it caravan was lovely and clean. And all the staff were welcoming and lovely... Going to book again soon. I love dawlish it's like my second home.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely site ..very friendly, helpful staff. Good location , as Easy walking distance to bus stop . The only slight problem is getting access into the caravan ,as needing to walk over muddy grass , with a fairly steep area for access to caravan steps and gain entry . Would definitely recommend and visit again. Safety: As above ..access to caravan is potentially a health a safety risk , due to mud and incline.
Lovely park nice small indoor swimming pool and outdoors, small entertainment venue, child's play area is far from entrance and only tiny, not really that good for youngest of children unless they can climb well for the slide. Has a zip line but no ramp so doesn't really move unless pushed. Big field on the play area to beable to kick ball about but all on a hill. Caravan was OK had a couple of flaws on arrival such as missing bedding and some beds being not done but was sorted quickly by staff. Is a nice quiet park for a couple days get away
Horrible experience when we went for the weekend …. Dirty caravan …. Boiler had a fault code on meaning we had no hot water initially… customer services were shocking … cars sped through site with young children waking road disaster waiting to happen … no bed lining was provided for pull out bed even tho we booked for 10 to sleep … full of the wrong crowd I’m guessing due to low prices of caravans full of intoxicated adults with children in tow at entertainment we left early after our next door neighbours in the caravan next to us had a domestic and assaulted one another seriously with there children screaming we were awake untill 3am with our children witnessing the whole event 7 police officers came multiple arrested ambulance service were called … My children were terrified we went to reception in the morning to explain the events to say we felt unsafe and were leaving no refund offered or to transfer caravan we were basically told this is pretty normal and they can’t control people’s behaviour the manger shrugged her shoulders I said I’d be writing a complaint she then said it would Come to her anyway and nothing more would come of it ! Such a shame as we have stayed here for 10 years plus multiple times a year with no issues ever ..it’s gone down hill massively ! Our holiday was absolutely ruined ! Rooms: Dirty caravans Nearby activities: Wi-Fi is no longer free entertainment is good but only for 0-5 ……older children get bored nothing for them to do atall Safety: Not safe for young children or family’s really. The road safety is a huge concern and so is the rowdy bunch of intoxicated violent people it seems to attract Food & drinks: Food and drink is expensive for extremely basic meals when we went they didn’t even have pizza bases in stock
Good location 15 min walk to the sea. 2 indoor pools . Caravans are well equipped. On the other hand, customer service are not supportive.
The caravan was lovely it didnt disapoint but no cash point on this site , also bingo every night which we was looking forward to but to buy your books it was only cash . Local cash point was sainsburys my partner drove there got cash out and when we returned they wasnt selling no more bingo books then they didnt start for another 15 minutes after that . After that we didnt bother going again .also the arcade where you can get change is always empty. Wont be returning there again .
