Took my car to this garage as it’s near work for MOT on Tuesday it failed. Was happy to go ahead with work that needed doing, got a phone call asking where my locking wheel nut key is as he can’t find it anywhere in my car and has looked ‘everywhere’. I specifically asked if he had checked the box in my boot to which he said he’s been ‘right the way through’ it. Having to get a lift home 40mins away that evening and causing inconvenience at work as I use my car for work. The next morning I spent nearly 2hrs ringing different dealerships to try get a replacement key made for £120-£180. I decided to wait, pick my car up and look myself first. Got dropped off at my car …before my colleague even drove out of that road I’d found the ‘missing’ key in the box in my boot where I said it was. The following morning I called the garage and informed him I found the key and it was where I said it would be. He said he would ‘try’ fit me in that day. I told him I need my car for work and that I live 40mins away so it’s not ideal if he can’t. I also mentioned it could’ve been done two days ago as it was there the full time … he responded ‘aye!?’ No apology as I think he was embarrassed. The stress and inconvenience caused to not only myself but to others who had to work around me… and to not even acknowledge that or apologise was disgusting. However, the work got carried out that day. Will not be using this garage again
