I enjoy Ashton, I get to see my family and it's close to so many amenities for shopping, dining, going out, cinema and accommodation to name a few. The tram is the easiest way to travel being a wheelchair user and I can get to Ashton quickly and reliably.
Trains are often late I know, not necessarily a station issue. But still.nnThe only outdoor seating is south facing and only on one platform, so you always get sun. That's all well and good, but what if you want/need to sit outside and in the shade? Or are getting a train on the other platform? Not great if you ask me.nnTicket machine is incredibly slow, and often out of order. Really needs updating.nnTicket office is also often closed.nnGood things about the station?nnIt's fairly tidy. Good amount of bins. There's a vending machine and hot drinks machine. The latter isn't accessible on Sundays.
Need more people policing non mask use and drug people getting on at Manchester and off at Clayton non payers .During the semi lockdown pensioners like me should go free from 830 am. Get our shopping and get back early safe before it’s busy. The trams are beautiful and tram stops clean and staff when you do see them very friendly but they all congregate at Piccadilly for some reason I’m tired of telling you this.Love the Trambassadors very polite with hand gel a nice safe touch I go on tram at least 4 to 5 days a week to shop gets me out or I’d get depression in lockdown so tram vital to me I cannot carry too much so like to go. More thankyou Elaine Blackhurst
Unreliable, old rolling stock. Ticket office closes at unpredictable times, only 1 ticket machine that often seems to be out of order.nnOn Sundays there's one train per hour to Manchester.nnIt's slower, but you're better off taking the tram.
Even at the time in the morning 8.30am I was there I didn't feel comfortable with the local loonies and druggies hanging around the tram stop and bus station. Felt even more uncomfortable the following evening when I arrived back
