The indoor market is a traditional mix of food, other goods, and cafés. Always seems thriving. The outdoor market varies each day. Tuesday and Sunday are flea market days. You're sure to find something to tempt you, at very reasonable cost.
I'm giving five stars because there are lots of stalls selling all sorts of things, just as you would expect in a market. It's my first time back in here since about 1982, so of course a lot has changed. If we don't use places like this we will lose them
Well I love a good market and I am ALL ways on the look out for one so today I found this one Ashton market I must say it very good there is a big size indoor market and an outside one too now it is dec so it was cold outside I was told that usally there are more stalls out side so I would think and in decent weather this place would be brilliant day out like I said indoor market was heated so it was okey not to mention on the surrounding streets there are lots of shops too so I will defo be back to this one . Happy market days .
Busy on a Saturday morning, went for some cooked meats and muffins to Williams, also got a sandwich made to order, queues at both sides of the counter, busy stall but there is plenty of staff to deal with the queues, good value for money
Absolutely dead , I remember it when it used to be packed. Now they are putting a big canopy over it WHY ?? wasting money & the fortune that's being spent on the town hall ? Embarrassed to say Ashton-under-Lyne is my place of birth. So sad.
Always been a favourite of mine - a chilled atmosphere.
An excellent market with a wide variety of stalls and shops, all offering something for everyone. I would highly recommend visiting.
I love this place. Fresh food stalls for bread fruit salad and meat. Toilets were clean. It's busy but I love the hustle and bustle and sense of community here
Biggest nearby indoors market I've visited. Great variety of stores, clean & friendly shopkeepers. It even houses paintings and artwork of local scenes in the 60s. I had a most enjoyable weekend there.
Overall very good place to go for clothes, fruit and veg hard ware needs. But I do sincerely hope that the local council and powers that be plow more in to this place because I remember a lot more on offer and not as many shops as I seen closed and left in a run down state also as a wheelchair/scooter user the slopes are few and far between as well as being very harsh I have spinal injury so yes I do notice the little things .One last thing I couldn't help but notice that the car parking is quite expensive as well but I do like this place and alot could and can be done for it after all it does have historical status like the millatry museum the market hall which did get gutted by fire so I appeal to everyone who enjoys shopping and history to go here.In regards to parking as a disabled car user with blue badge fee's do apply but you do get an extra hour so blue badge holder's be aware here you Don't get 3 hours free You do pay but good day out for everyone.Apart from a few nigles We will always return lets hope that more shops etc return soon.
