Just a warning from a current student to those thinking about coming here. The crowding is horrendous and it takes 30 minutes to find a seat to eat. There are currently 3000 students and around 1000 places for people to sit, including outside which are unusable when raining or snowing. The library is always full especially during winter and to top it off they are not kicking people out of the library for sitting on the floor when there are no seats in or out of the library. The only good thing I can think of about this college is that most of the teacher are friendly and helpful, and they provide a wide range of subjects.nOne more thing I forgot to mention is the fact that there is scaffolding everywhere, lights have recently fallen out of the ceiling and there are large holes in the roof of Costa that a bucket is placed under to catch the water that comes through. I probably should’ve gone to Glossopdale.
Pretty awful experience. I had to do GCSE maths exams again, but they didn't tell me about them until a couple weeks before, maths department are terrible and don't help. Teachers are off constantly so our class had to deal with supply teachers all the time. Media department are amazing and unbelievably helpful, don't go to this college if you have to retake maths because they do NOT help.
I can’t really say too much good about this college I really did not enjoy muppets 2 years here. The buildings layout is a nighmare when you first start trying to find what you needed here was like finding a needle in a haystack. Majority of the staff here are trying their hardest for their students however it is understandable why so many students do not wish to carry on with further education after college when you visit this place because it’s not as great as it would have you believe.
I attended for 2 years so I feel like I can give a decent idea of the college. Doing A Levels here the tutors were all friendly and helpful sometimes even caring on a 1-1 basis. Facilities were good at the time I imagine they're better now as they are constantly developing the site. Atmosphere was decent but areas to socialise were always packed to the rafters and a lot of the time you found yourself being shoo'd from nooks and crannies in search of somewhere to loiter on free periods.
Went to the art exhibition . 1/6/2019.nWhat a farse . Reasonable crowd but no-one at the back could hear them speak due to no microphone. My daughter's work had been broken , bits added to it plus work had mysteriously disappeared. Some of her art pieces had been copied by another student .nNot one tutor spoke to us . It seems they have their favourites . Thankfully it was her last yr .
