Probably the most friendly guitar shop in Greater Manchester. A great family run business with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very efficient and prices extremely good. String instruments, speakers and ancillary are also sold here. Steve always has a beaming smile and is very patient with customers. You can also buy used instruments here. You can try instruments before you buy one. You can take your instruments in to be repaired or refurbished; all in person! There is also a cafe on site. Kudos to Steve and the team at Gibson Music.
I highly recommend Gibson Music Store in Ashton for anyone interested in guitars. They have everything you need including your first guitar to another one for your collection, and much more. Steve & his wife are so lovely & helpful. Don't forget the cafe at the back of the shop too! I'm having lessons with Tom who is brilliantly talented & inspirational. I've learnt so much in 3 months & he's given me confidence to believe in myself. It's a great community right there in the shop, people popping in & playing their guitars. I highly recommend them just as they were recommended to me.

What a fantastic guitar shop. I managed to trade in two of my old guitars and got a new one to me at a discount which is exactly what I wanted. There were a couple of local guitarists in while I was there but I didn't feel in any way intimidated and would recommend Gibson's for anybody wanting a guitar no matter what level.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff, made my daughter feel special while buying her first guitar.

Brilliant, took the guitar and he did it on the day less than half what I cost me last time to have an acoustic guitar restrung and set up/action lowered, would highly recommend. Cheers Steve
Customer service is exceptionally good. Attention to detail and specialist knowledge too. I’ve bought second hand guitars and bass and new uke and amp and had a handful of items repaired. The proprietor Steve can fix stuff himself but also knows when a more specialist person is required and he seems to know the “go to” person for just about everything musical. There’s also a cafe in the shop so if you fancy a snack or a cuppa whilst you’re there, that’s another plus. Communications are so often lacking in service provisions with everyone seeking to want to buy stuff from Amazon or other on line suppliers who stack high and sell cheap. This is the complete opposite however yet prices are always reasonable and it feels like you’re going to visit your mate who knows what he’s talking about. I love this shop and the varied stock they supply, service, fix and purchase albeit I’ve never sold them anything-I want to hang on to the great instruments they’ve supplied me makes me revisit regularly. Most recently I needed a repair on an acoustic bass with a relatively short deadline for a forthcoming gig. The work was completed a day earlier than expected. I’m happy to recommend them.
