Beautiful cemetery, as you approach the cemetery from the town you first see the war memorial standing imperious, the a little further along is the main entrance, as you turn in the delightful chapel sits on the left. This chapel is magestic and is clearly looked after for those families that have lost loved ones who hold there services there. I was there for the annual Christmas service to comemoriate loved ones, it was a lovely service 1that I will return to next year. The views are spectacular and all the staff from the superintendent to the gravediggers should be very proud of what they do, by keeping it so well
It's a beautiful cemetery, but they allow the travellers to cause to much disruption to the peace and quiet. Cars and cars of them, playing music, serving food and allowing their kids to run riot frequently throughout the year. My family have been there for over 20 years. The aforementioned is quite sad really, especially for people who are grieving. They no longer maintain the cemetery as they used to, in fact the only areas that are maintained beautifully are the areas where the traveler families rest. I'm unsure what the story is, but I often witness what looks to be meetings with Epsom and Ewell Council workers and said traveler families, one can only imagine what's going on there!
Vicky so caring and nothing to much trouble. Thank you for making Arthur’s celebration of life day so very special.
Our Aunt died March 2020 and her wish was to be fully covered over. She is in the lovely peaceful well maintained section, at the top of the cemetery. Our Aunt, LEFT funds for this to be done with one of our family Members, this was purchased over a year ago and we can’t have it layed .Vicki the supintendant refuses to give consent as she is supporting Valrie a disruptive individual who does not own the plot. Vicki is dictiminating against us as a family. The Grave has been left in a terrible state, causing emotional stress to the family who all support the laying of the headstone. Please advise us of how we can resolve this issue and why are you not adhering to the rules you stated in your leaflet?
As peaceful as a cemetery can be, this place is a pleasure to walk in. It is open for most of the day and parking is not an issue. There seems to be a fashion with benches next to graves and I think it’s getting out of hand actually.
My close friend passed away last Saturday night after having suffered for so long and now the cemetery is saying that the burial have given a provisional slot in 18 days after.Apparently , the reason given is unreasonable during a pandemic season. This is very sad and heart breaking as us Muslims should be buried as soon as possible and the EEBC is fully aware of this .This sadly demonstrate the lack of sensitivity by the council to a gentleman who worked so hard for the Muslim community in Epsom and Ewell and worked so closely with the council in the past. I would like NOW to say a BIG THANK YOU to the Council for having done their best to accommodate the burial of my close friend this Friday.Much appreciated, may all the staff remain well and safe.
FYI no dogs allowed - it would have been such a comfort for the mourners to be able to bring them
Always a joy to be in such a lovely peaceful, well maintained place. A few weeks ago, I found someone had taken a beautiful bronze boxer dog I'd had on my husband's grave for nearly 19 years. What kind of people are around who would do such a thing? One cannot point the finger, but I do have a very strong suspicion as to who has done this. The Office staff were very helpful and compassionate. I'm still very upset about this occurrence.
Extremely disappointed with the council as one of my relative who passed away this week and he is still waiting to be buried. As a Muslim the council is aware that our Burial should be done without delay. I know we are in a pandemic but to be told that they don’t have any staff to assist with the burial is ridiculous. And he will have to wait another 2 weeks. They need to put more resources to help with this. The family has already suffered enough with their loss and the delay is causing them more distress. My relative has always been active with the council and he was one of the persons who lobbied for a Muslim burial plot in Epsom. I hope and pray that he is put to rest ASAP
I am extremely disappointed by the lack of preparedness of Epsom Cemetery with the increased demands for burials. A close friend of mine passed away on Sunday and the family has been advised that there is a 3 weeks waiting list for his funeral. This is a distressing time for all concerned and especially families losing dear ones during this 2nd wave. Surely it is the council's duty to engage more people if need be, to meet the needs of the BAME community, this gentleman being of Muslim faith .
