This place puts animals to sleep without checking microchips. If it happens once, it happens multiple times. No excuse other than laziness or incompetence. Whichever it is the vet, and management, have no business working with animals. Spot was microchipped. Spot had been taken in to a loving home. Spot had a family. And he was taken away from them by a thoughtless, heartless or useless vet.
RIP Spot. Not checked for a chip, even though he was registered and up-to-date. Euthanised without the courtesy of doing their job and ringing his owner. Well done.
This veterinary practice has a reputation locally as being the best around, however the treatment my parents have received has been diabolical. Rude, uncaring, obstructive. They have been customers for years and have said they will never darken their door again. It sounds as though Martha resents her reputation locally and is trying her hardest to destroy it. Avoid at all costs if you’re seeking a caring practice to look after your animals.
A month ago I took our 12 year old cat to be looked at as he'd gone off his food and had diarrhoea. He was given a fluid drip and had bloods taken. Picked him up and was told his white blood count indicated he'd had an infection but was OK. That cost us £200+. Took him back two days later for a check up and he'd gained weight so we were happy. Until last week when I got worried about him still having diarrhoea so I took him to a different vet. He has a large mass and we're going to lose him...he's currently on steroids but we've been told it's a matter of time. So despite him being examined twice a month ago, his mass was missed and his white blood count wasn't over an infection, it was cancer. We are all devastated that we're going to lose him as we thought he'd be with us for years.Really not happy that he could have had treatment weeks ago and instead he had a month with no treatment at all. We've used Ashdales for years, they were great with him when he had a tooth problem 7 years ago and also last year when he needed to go on special urinary food and also when our dog got run over and needed her leg off, but our little man has been very badly let down and we don't want any other families to go through what we are going through
Personally never used this vet and never would after hearing what happened to beautiful Spot. Vet should be named and shamed!!!! CHECK MICROCHIPS!
Misdiagnosed my dog, spent all week back & forwards with him spending £100s on antibiotics only to have him PTS at the out of hours vets only hours after they sent him home saying “he’s massively improved” returned the following week to return the £161 worth of medication I didn’t get the chance to use any of & before I’d even opened my mouth was told well we won’t be refunding you for them, I wasn’t actually after a refund they are just pointless to me, have used this vets all my life but after the way I’ve just been treated with zero compassion I’ll never use them again! Absolutely disgusting, the receptionists have no people skills whatsoever.
Staff are friendly Had 2 cats nurtured here and they were both treated with great care during and after Sadly one passed away now but my current girl still goes for her vaccines/boosters and never had any issues All treat her with care and are friendly and very helpful
Lovely small practice. Friendly approachable staff. We have been customer s for over 30 years and for numerous pets
No compassion at all, the vet Martha is so rude she didn’t listen to anything I was saying concerning my dog then told me if she needs to put to sleep it’s no different to her having bloods done and I couldn’t be in the room! She was disgusting and made an already horrific situation even worse. Go somewhere else where they actually care about the animals not just the money that’s coming from them.
