Negative Review of Shopping at Asda OmaghnnI visit Asda in Omagh every week, usually spending an average of £150. To save time, I use the self-service scanning system. Unfortunately, since the system was changed a few weeks ago, significant issues have arisen.nnThe first problem is the considerable slowdown of the scanning guns, which is still somewhat manageable. However, the biggest difficulties occur during the payment process. Two weeks ago, the system crashed, and I was told to go to a staffed checkout. I lost over 15 minutes waiting for the staff to make a decision, unpack, rescan, and repack my items. The following week, everything worked fine.nnUnfortunately, yesterday, the same issue happened again. The system froze, and after 10 minutes of trying to fix it, the staff member told me to go to a staffed checkout again. Not having the time for this, I left my trolley with the groceries and went home without completing my shopping.nnI am very disappointed with the current situation and believe that the store urgently needs to address these system issues so that customers can shop without such problems.
Really bad. Shelves very often sparse. Never any baskets by the door when you walk in yet staff standing around at self checkouts having casual chats. No bags at self checkout. Surely it’s just basics to be able to ensure plenty of baskets available and bags by the self checkouts. I asked two young staff members for a bag and they looked at me like I had two heads. It’s like going into the pits of hell - wish they would open a Tescos in Omagh.
Typical Asda store. Clean good choice of food, cleaning products, pet food and supplies, electrical items and housewares, stationary cards fir all occassions, newspapers and magazines and books, nice bakery. Good selection of clothes.
Staff are ridiculously under trained.nI have both an Asda discount card and an Asda rewards card and have never been able to use them in this store as the till staff never know how to work the system.nI had hoped for an improvement with the new tills being installed but after trying to use my discount card it took four floor staff 10 minutes of confusion before they got the manager to tell me they don't know how to use this new system either.nTldr: the shelves are empty and the staff are clueless, run in if your just using self checkout otherwise choose a different store.
Shelves half empty and toilets are disgusting. Staff are clueless and under trained. Would actually be nice to see one of them smile at you while shopping. Would highly avoid going here.
