Reviews

Very well maintained store with a nice variety of groceries. The products were well laid out and everything was easy to find. The prices were great as well - very reasonable. We had an issue with an item not ringing up at the self checkout and one of the employees, Libby, helped us. She was very friendly and personable. This is a great place to do your shopping.

Visited Asda Newquay twice this week and had problems both times.nnThe first issue was with Oggs cupcakes purchased from this store. There was a coupon inside the box and Asda was listed as one of the retailers that accepts the voucher. I returned specifically to buy the product again using the coupon, but was told the store doesn't accept it.nnI also tried Scan & Go for the first time. The Newquay store is listed on Asda's website as supporting Scan & Go, so I downloaded the app, scanned my shopping and packed everything as I went. When I reached the till, neither I nor two staff members could work out how to transfer the shop to the till using the QR code on screen. While trying to work it out, the system selected me for a check, which may have been part of the issue. A manager was then called, but nobody seemed to know how to complete the check either. In the end, I had to unpack everything and scan my entire shop again at the till.nnThe staff were polite and helpful throughout, so this isn't a criticism of them. However, if Head Office is promoting Newquay as a Scan & Go store, it would be good to ensure staff are fully trained on how the system works, and also that coupons included with products bought in a store can be redeemed in the same store

This really is a lovely little Asda, it's easy to find, and well sign posted off the main road in the town. But if you're visiting and unsure of where it is - head for the local railway station first! The staff there are lovely by the way, they're really helpful and interested to know where out of town visitors are from. So when I return to Newquay in a few months time, I know exactly where to go for my holiday fresh food shop.

Although this is a small Asda it has everything you need. What made it awful was only self checkouts were working and with a trolley on a tiny packing area was a nightmare. Nearly ever item set off the alarm and the 1 staff member had to keep sorting it out , along with all the other issues everyone else had. If you are making a customer do the work at least supply the hand held scanners. Took longer to get out than do all the shopping. I have to say the staff member was very helpful and needs a medal for doing it all on her own. Oh and there are no toilet facilities which the website said they had.

Better than I expected..... It's modern and fresh, decent sized. Finally it's much cheaper than the Sainsbury's in the town centre.
