I had a terrible experience at Asda today. None of the tills were open, forcing everyone to use the self-checkouts, which are notoriously unreliable and frustrating to use. There was no staff presence near the tills to assist customers, and the one staff member at the self-checkouts had a rude and unhelpful attitude.nnThe self-checkouts themselves were a nightmare, as usual. They frequently malfunctioned, creating unnecessary delays for everyone. Many of them didn’t accept cash, which is ridiculous. Cash is legal tender, and not being able to use it is unacceptable. The added surveillance cameras and mirrors at the self-checkouts are invasive and make customers feel uncomfortable and treated like criminals.nnAfter encountering issues with the machine only a few items into scanning, I tried to find someone to open a till, but I was told there was no one available. Even when I asked politely, I was met with blunt and unhelpful responses. I ended up leaving my basket behind and walking out empty-handed because it simply wasn’t worth the hassle.nnAsda’s reliance on self-checkouts with no backup tills or adequate staff is unacceptable and drives customers away. This experience has completely put me off shopping here again.
I recently visited Asda Lakeside and had the pleasure of meeting Lindsey, one of the loveliest staff members I've encountered in a long time. What struck me was her proactive approach to customer service. She took the initiative to check in with me, asking if I was okay. During our conversation, she shared that she has learning difficulties, which can make it challenging to adapt to different situations and deal with difficult customers who may not understand her condition.nLindsey's willingness to be open and honest about her challenges is admirable. It speaks volumes about her character and her dedication to providing excellent customer service. Despite facing potential difficulties, she consistently goes above and beyond to assist customers with a smile.nI believe Lindsey is a true asset to Asda and deserves recognition for her exceptional customer service. Her positive attitude and genuine care for others make a significant difference to the shopping experience.nI hope Asda acknowledges Lindsey's outstanding work and provides her with the support and resources she needs to continue thriving in her role.
I like shopping at my local ASDA. I always find what I need, and the prices are pretty decent. The store is usually clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly enough. My only complaint is that the checkouts can get really backed up, especially on the weekends. Overall, I'd recommend giving ASDA a try.
Asda in Doncaster has to be one of their flagship stores across the area. With a range of products on offer, you can usually find what you need within the store without having to look too far. It's also a great store for video game and film releases and they always have several copies in stock which is ideal.nnI usually drive past my local asda to visit this one at the dome as it just has much more on offer compared to the other stores in the area. The Cafe here is fantastic too, which is always an added bonus to the visit.nnThe toilets are usually clean too and they are regularly maintained which is expected from supermarkets and Asda take care of it perfectly.
We like big Asda always a decent selection of products. George clothing is good value and looks nice in my opinion. Always plenty of parking.nnStaff are friendly and pleasantnnCafe had a children eat for a pound when we popped in. Food was nice. Really well priced.
