Sustainable products and foods store, I love it. I was a researcher at Sheffield Uni to research people’s environmental behaviour also after that I worked for environmental protection NGO in London. I love to see and buy sustainable products. This store has wide range of ethically / environmentally sourced products and foods.
A nice shop. Mostly use the filling stations, which I really appreciate and would like to have more of these. Too bad that sustainable products are so expensive. Would be nice to have organic soaps, the ones currently sold are quite basic. There are brands that do amazing products or solid shampoo/conditioners.
I honestly come out of this shop in a bad mood from constantly dealing with the totally unfriendly and often rude staff. This is an expensive store and despite my best efforts to offer basic politeness as a customer, there isn’t even ever a response to my “thank you” or “hi”. It’s bizarre. Although I find it necessary to shop here for a few items for my dietary requirements, availability is very inconsistent. Planet organic could learn from Whole Foods, who have friendly staff and reliable product availability… I am close to my limit with this place and the staff are clearly pained to serve customers, which is not the ethos you might expect from a health food type shop, so I may just move online.
I highly recommend shopping here. The staff are very knowledgeable and informative re the health products and take the time to discuss possible options. There is a wide variety of food products of high quality.
Got the weights content and nutritional value completely wrong on their cauliflower base pizzas. When queried with member staff, they agreed and couldn't understand how. Asked should it be put back on shelf was told "Yes please"! Should that not have been urgently investigated? I should say 100% it should. What about diabetics, People with high cholesterol etc. Please tell me you are going to take these off the shelf and get your facts right. I wonder if any other products are also misleading?!
The Balham store is super cramped since its long-awaited refit, so much so that the shopping experience is unpleasant and I just want to get out of there. With just one exception - when I was feeling unwell - staff are not in the least bit friendly and seem to think that manners don't matter when they're taking your money. Till staff gave a distinct 'whateva' attitude. What a shame as this store used to be my favourite health food shop.
Over-priced fad foods. Remarkably for a shop that has organic in it's name, this store mainly stocks foods relating to fad diets, such as keto, and those goods are mostly inorganic. Don't be fooled by the purportedly ethical options to refill your own boxes and bags from the 'package-free' section, the foods here cereals, dried fruit, chocolate buttons are more expensive per kg than buying them in a packet off the shelf in-store. The package-free fresh fruit and veg are over-priced and often from European growers rather than British. Most items that can be found in the other nearby supermarkets are more expensive in Planet Organic. Generally a wholly disappointing store, but they do organic and fairtrade coffee which is still surprisingly hard to find in other coffee outlets.
Every time I buy something from this shop, it’s one price on the shelves and one price at the till, staff is not friendly and unprepared to deal with this. Stay away from this or watch how much you are being charged.
Rude staff. I nodded my head to say hi, walked around corner of aisle and I overheard the staff member say “how rude. Didn’t even say morning”. Avoid this place. Good food though!
This was a really good experience for first time visit. Coffee best this week staff very helpful as I have a severe allergy and checked everything for me. Big thank you to the women who not only knows product information but great knowledge of crystals.
