5 for Ward 11 Spent two weeks on ward 11, having been admitted with a broken ankle. I Can't thank the staff enough for the way they ALL looked after me whilst I was there. Even though they were always so busy, they always found time to be friendly, cheerful, helpful and supportive. From the morning cup of tea to the late at night medication, such professionalism by all the people who worked on the ward. Got to mention the meals from the kitchens too. So much choice, always hot or cold as necessary when it arrived at the bedside and always tasty too.
Arrowe Park A + E lets the whole hospital down. It's a disgrace and it's not just short staffed. It's incompetence and lack of basis co-ordination. Instead of just accepting it like we have done for years, I've launched a campaign against it and those who are in charge of it. They need to know their reputations and jobs are on the line and that they face a number of law suits which will hit the national press which is their biggest fear. Weeks before my own admission, I took Christine up to A + E who was in agony due a 2 year urgent delayed gallstones operation. I have never seen her like it. 9 hours of agony without pain relief apparently it's the equivalent of breaking both elbows at the same time. I submitted a formal complaint in very positive, but robust legal language the next day and surprisingly they have treated her in a deluxe way since. Please leave a bad review for Arrow A + E even it's for a relative in the past. The managers actually pay attention to these. We have got to get it so that A + E offer a reasonable service and not a 3rd world facility with patients lying in the floor in unhealthy warm air. Would be appreciated so much. The A + E which sees the most vulnerable lets down the whole hospital. It tarnishes the good work of the wards in the hospital.
Excellent staff during my 3 week stay in Intensive Care. Friendly 'super' nurses. Professional. As a well known local artist, donated two valuable paintings - 'The State' and 'Venus as a Boy'. Staff were pleased with the donations.
We been to the hospital few days back well went great from greeting to meeting. Right we parked the car In car park area . no proper parking sign or board No proper information of where to pay for parking.! We came out in car park driving through the barrier were not opening…!???? Because I need not pay tickets And 4 cars behind. Well the authorities should put correct information over where should we pay tickets..! And how to pay. Ask 3 people they did have any information at all finally asked the staff who is smoking out walk inside to pay 15 people waiting to pay at one machine.. come on….! Really Hopistial appointment can be so stressful and parking is double stressful..
What an incredible team of people, providing the highest standards of care. I visited as a day patient for a procedure last week, and had an operation at the SEAL department yesterday. Both visits were first rate, highly professional and caring, from booking in, to interactions with every member of both teams. Parking is horrific sadly and my waiting time was awful 72+weeks but this is not the fault of this incredible team of people. Thank you
Better facilities than many hospitals these days. Staff are woefully stretched as is the case across the entire NHS. Nurse Helen Rooney of the SEU is an asset to the team and should be paid more.
I recently was admitted for 1 week due to picking up and unfortunate infection. I went into A&E was seen initially within 15 minutes and in a bed within a few hours. All the staff and Doctors were fantastic - Special mentions to the team on Ward 24 who really looked after me. Back home now - Thank you to everyone that took care of me.
Went in this dump yesterday and found out that it hasn't changed since the previous visit 5 years ago. I'm not able to even put weight on my foot, they took my info without even looking at it and then took my bloods - 6 hours later, the useless DOCTOR told me what can I do for you, I told him what are you going to do for me. He sort of touched it and clearly he didn't give a damn because he says I have no idea what it is and clearly something is wrong but he didn't want to do an xray or anything else to confirm nothing was wrong. I'm so sick of the NHS - ON TOP OF THIS - I watched the disgusting reception staff treat a disabled lady with special needs like a piece of garbage, she was deaf and alone. None of them knew sign language, none of them knew nothing about her. It was up to the other people waiting to calm her down because they kept walking by and ignoring her no matter what. She was in major distress and things just kept going from bad to worse for her. I felt terrible leaving her alone. I'm now at home using crutches because I can't put weight on my foot waiting for the uselses doctors office to open up tomorrow.
Attended with my husband on Tuesday 12 March. He was a day case patient admitted to the SEAL unit for a procedure. We would like to thank the lovely kind staff we met working on the unit that day. What was a very stressful day was made a lot better by the staffs kind caring nature towards my husband and myself. As a retired nurse it was very reassuring that my husband was cared for by such professional people. Thank you all involved from my husband and myself x
Brilliant experience - short wait, slick appointment involving 3 different medical staff and gentle ophthalmologist Lucy. TU - all my fears were put aside by the lovely staff there. Had all sorts of tests and out after an hour.
