One of the cleanest airport that I have been to. Good selection of duty free shops and restaurants. Lounges are upscale. Terminal 2 also had multi-faith room.
State of the art airport with state of the art facilities. The hub of British Airways. Spent close to 7 hours and it was the most bearable layover I've ever experienced. Well connected terminals with trains and we'll labelled with information screens almost everywhere to help you find your way. COVID-19 protocols are well observed with mask wearing enforced and sanitation points almost within an arm's reach everywhere. There are numerous customer support booths for those just in case moments and clarifications or to just get general help with your airline. Found it very convenient that there were so many charging stations for your devices and the waiting bay area seats are also equipped with charging ports, though not all were working. One thing to note is that to use them your charger should have the English style plug . The terminals have lots of shopping areas to buy a wide range of stuff from souvenirs to liquor and perfumes. There are also numerous restaurants to eat from . The airport also has quite areas and prayer rooms. All in all it is a very equipped airport to sort out almost the needs of anyone transiting through London.
A sprawling airport where you will definitely get a workout getting in and out a good thing, so plan for a bit of extra time. The airport is mostly efficient, the security is the only slow part. There is more shopping than you can shake a stick at, and surprisingly the prices are reasonable. There is a lot of hustle and bustle all around you, but if you walk around a bit, you can find a quiet spot. The lounges at London, United, BA, feel a big old - but do have decent food choices.
This is definitely the most GRAND and elaborate airport I have visited in my traveling so far. It's beyond impressive how well-planned and maintained this airport is. Additionally, it's very beautiful and classy to look at. The scale of flights this airport caters to is massive, and there are ample directions and signs all over the place, ensuring you don't get or feel lost. There are charging outlets strategically situated all over the airport, and I found this very useful because my phone battery was very low when I landed. The transport links within and around the airport are very efficient. There's hardly any fault that can be pointed out about Heathrow Airport.
Several first impressions about this airport: very big airport consisted of several terminals, luxurious shopping mall in the center of the terminal, many passengers coming from various ethnics and cultures, transportation system highly integrated, hi-tech check in system. I also like that they provide a special room for praying for multi-cross religion. Moslem can use this room for praying decently, which is nice.
Had to transit via Heathrow Terminal 5 on my way to India from Edinburgh. A interesting 2.5 waiting time filled with coffee and croissants. Clean toilets and bright and cheerful spaces take away the tediousness of the waiting. Liked it!!
Arrived in terminal 5. Clean and tidy. There was minimal wait time at immigration which was mainly automated. Bus ride from gate to terminal was short and prompt. Bag collection took awhile but this was apparently an issue with the airplane as opposed to baggage handlers. There is a small duty free on the exit if required but not the same scale as in arrivals. Drop off area has a £5 fee but was not to busy and plenty of drop off spaces left for people to use.
Heathrow! Wow! A very lovely airport. It is very large and diverse. It is a very busy airport with flights going to numerous destinations. As big as Heathrow airport, you can hardly get lost or confused because the information boards are well detailed, and the directions/signs are well arranged and legible. I love this Airport so much.
A large airport which is well connected and well maintained. There are a few cafes that stay open till 11 PM so if you have a overnight layover make sure you get something to eat before 11. It is very quiet at night so spending the night at the airport is also possible.
I was recently in London and had to go through Heathrow airport for my connecting flight. The security process was organized and quick, the terminal was clean and well lit, food options were plentiful and people were friendly. The gate I had to catch my next flight was right in front of me so I didn't have to walk much at all. I felt very comfortable and satisfied with my experience at Heathrow airport.
