Best place for all your wood needs
Was looking at some redwood which was listed on the website in 3.9, 4.2, 4.5 and 4.8m lengths. I wanted the 3.9m length. I emailed asking if they would be able to cut it into 2 pieces to transport it in a car. They then said that the Manchester branch has a cutting facility. I replied asking if it was free for it to be cut and they then said I would have to call the branch directly. I did this and was then told on the phone to forward the email conversation directly to the person on the phone who then ended the call and continued the conversation via email. Bit much just for a simple query. She said it would cost £1 for the cut which I was fine with. She stated that the pieces were stored in Manchester in 5.4m lengths which is longer than purchasable via the website. I then asked out of curiosity if I order the 3.9m length would it be pre-cut to this length for when I arrive to collect it and then I would pay the £1 for it to be cut further to my required size. Well this then escalated to her saying that if they don't have a 3.9m length available that I would actually have to pay for the full 5.4m length due to the fact that if I want only 3.9m then they can't then sell the 1.5m offcut. So basically, anyone who wants just 3.9m which is a purchasable length via the website has to have a 1.5m offcut which can't be sold. So everyone who buys 3.9m has to buy it as a 5.4m length. No one can get just 3.9m as every 3.9m length will cause an offcut of 1.5m. This is ridiculous. Why sell 3.9m lengths on the website if you can't do it without making the customer also purchase the unrequired offcut. Why not store them in different sized lengths, why not sell 1.5m as an option on the website for people who need shorter sizes? The way this is done is absolutely ridiculous.
Had a problem with a 4 year old piece of composite decking so called in Timberworld and spoke to Chris on the main counter who is always very helpful and plesant and he said l needed to email Ian to help sort the problem out. This l did accompanied by photos and within no time this has been rectified and a new piece given and cut to size. Great service throughout including the short time it took to be cut to size.
Very helpful staff and was able to get just what I wanted at a time when items are becoming hard to obtain.I will recommend this company to friends.
Brilliant as Always..Chris on sales desk knowledgable. always helpfull and patient..all yard lads friendly and helpfull..never out of stock on my 25 years visits...materials first class straight and true..stored correctly..10 out of 10.
Always slow service. Its almost a competition to see which staff members can ignore a customer the longest. Prices are reasonable though.
If your in a rush this isnt the place for you Waited 1 hour 35 mins to be served for 3 peices of wood, Same every time you go.
Terrible experience and poor customer service. Deliver items not fit for purpose and fail to resolve issues in a timely manner. Won't be using again.
Bought the Tectonica breakfast bar for £170 cheaper than Halvanto/Rixonway kitchens...cut it to length for me, included strip for cut end and loaded into my car...fantastic price and service.
A great bunch of lads, in the yard, made for a quick and pleasant delivery.
