I visited this new Argos for the first time. I was served by a male assistant who was polite and helpful. He explained that the second item I had purchased was in another warehouse so would take a little time to retrieve. I mentioned I would continue food shopping and return. When doing so I was the only customer waiting for my item which was on the floor in a corner. Two female assistants stood around one like a sentry - the other leaning against the doorjamb. Both just stared at me. Neither asked for my receipt so that I could claim my item. They waited for the male assistant to return from the storeroom to assist me. Rude and unhelpful staff with no teamwork mentality! I completed a separate Argos feedback form and gave a favourable review for the helpful male assistant. New Argos branch? Shame about the other staff for not helping their colleague or the customer!
I ordered a lawnmower from Argos and went into Sainsbury’s today to collect it. This was the first time I had an order since Argos moved into the store so was not sure of the distance to the car park. When the mower was brought out it was really heavy and I asked the assistant if he could help me carry it through the store. He refused and told me to fetch a trolley. However I didn’t have a £1 coin. I struggled to try and carry it but it was so heavy and I dropped it. A very kind lady and gentleman came to my assistance and we used the lady’s trolley to transport it to my car. I would like to make a complaint about the poor service I received, especially as I am nearly eighty and I certainly do not intend to use Argos in this store again.
