[May 2020] Only used the climbing wall, but my 6 year old granddaughter loved it. The two people supervising the session did a great job. Would have given more stars if the parking situation had been made clearer. It doesn’t mention that you get two hours free parking at the car park pay and display - it’s £2 an hour! Come on; it’s not a hospital. Clearer signage needed to advise that users of the leisure centre get free parking.
Modern varied sports complex with Costa, much easier if you know the following.... 1 You must create an online account to book. 2 the parking is free if you register within 20 minutes of arrival on the touch screen in reception. 3 the lockers require your own padlock reception lent me one or £1 for clip and climb. 4 EV charging requires the bp app. The new facility is really good and has a friendly, open feel. Clip and climb rightly very popular.
Best gym in the area in my opinion. The gym is well equipped and still feels brand new. The pool is lovely and always a great temperature. The spa is bigger than expected, with 2 steam rooms 1 normal, 1 citrus, a sauna and a salt room and is always kept pristine. The staff are super friendly and really really helpful. Classes are brilliant and plentiful. Obviously the Costa is an added bonus! Could not recommend this leisure centre more!
We booked the clip n climb for Sunday afternoon. The slots get booked up so plan ahead. You need to arrive 15 mins ahead of the session and there are usually tables available to sit at and watch. There are loads of individual walls with different routes/activities to them. Great option for indoor fun. Good pre briefing. Toilets and Costa on site. Parking is free but remember to register your car.
Went for the Just Swim session with my 8-month-old son. Changing rooms were clean and really nice, and I'll be making use of the pram locks next time. The training pool was a little cold for my baby, but nice temperature for me and really spacious. The splash area look fantastic and was really popular with the older children. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful leisure centre with everything you need - including softplay and climbing center for the kids, spa, swimming and gym for the adults. Only problem is that if you are not a member, you need to book way ahead to get spaces as it's very popular.
I take my daughter swimming, roller skating and I use the gym. The gym facilities are truly excellent. One of the few gyms with a proper rig, they have battle ropes, trx, dip bars and pull up bars. The swimming pools are clean and it’s easy to book with the online system. The true hidden gem of this gym are the roller skating lessons. £4 for an hour lesson. They teach all the essential skills and the teachers are fantastic! My LO can be tricky, but they have truly been so patient with her and she loves the lessons and is eager to go back every week!
Lovely hour swimming in the renovated arena, I would suggest taking your own lock for the lockers as we couldn't see the combination code to open it as we had both left our glasses inside the locker. Also £5 refundable for each lock provided. Nice hot showers and changing rooms.
Such a well kept, high quality gym, pool and spa, recently have also updated their gym with new equipment as requested by myself and a lot of the regulars in the gym. Love the new and old equipment, and the atmosphere is amazing. 10/10 gym
I love this place. Great facilities, friendly and helpful staff, lovely pool and changing. The staff keep it so clean slightly less so at weekends. The shoe removal policy is perfect, and similar to pools across France.
