Arranged for pickup at Railway station at Appleby for next stages of Pennine Way some weeks in advance. Turned up bang on time. No issues at all.
Didn't reply to my email to pre-book for a few days, then when pressed gave me a terse "sorry no availability" No availability for a 15 minute journey nearly a week in advance?
Fantastic service. Courteous, polite and friendly taxi driver. Right on time too and gave me some great tips on where to eat in Appleby. If I am in the area again, and need again, would use Appleby Taxis in a heartbeat.
They don't answer the phone so not sure if they actually turn up.
This is an atrocious taxi service. Do not rely on them. We called a taxi and were waiting when we saw the taxi drive off with another passenger. No attempt had been made to locate us although we were waiting outside the only pub we had stated, in a small rural village. The office then ignored our calls when using the phone used to make the booking. When we swapped phones and was therefore unrecognised the office answered straight away. We were told we had not been at the agreed meeting point untrue and a second pick up was agreed. We were left stranded with no apology and eventually collected an hour after our original booking by a driver who could be best described as belligerent and charmless. He argued we had not been there although we had not changed location from the first failed pickup ! Talking to locals later that evening we were told this company are unreliable and often let customers down. This is a poor service and you are best advised to look elsewhere as they score zero for customer care.
