I made a reservation in Annie's guest house and my card got declined , when I arrived to the location we tried to call them and they said I should cancel the reservation so they can give me the same room and I can pay in person, after I followed their advice and canceled the booking I called and they said we no more have room, so basically they lied and they didn't even allow me to enter the guest house, it was such a very bad experience because I was already tired from my journey, and then going through this bad customer service. I had to make another reservation in another hotel and travel again to that hotel.
A very organised, pleasant, well designed and value for money accommodation. The people are especially pleasant and very forthcoming with local information.Rooms: 5/5
I stayed here for a couple of days of R&R after completing the Hadrian's cycleway route. I booked Annie's as it offered secure bicycle parking and a good rate over a bank holiday weekend. I was very happy during my stay. The room was cosy and had all the amenities I needed and more. The breakfast was excellent, all cooked to order and it seemed that nothing would be too much to ask for. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall I had an excellent stay, the guest house is in a good location, only a short walk from the beach and a lovely park. There are also excellent restaurants nearby as well as more fast food options and Annie's provides a microwave and dinnerware for guests to use as they please. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area. Thank you!!
I haven’t even stayed here and I’ve just spoken with the rudest unhelpful and incompetent individual, who refused to tell me if I had a booking, and then hung up on me and refused to answer. If that’s how they treat their customers on the phone then I’m sure we dodged a bullet by not staying here
Excellent Guest House, no problems. June and her daughter runs a homely and friendly Guest House. Situated in a quiet, out of the way part of town, but only 10 minutes walk from the town center itself. Breakfasts are nice and the movie posters on the walls are good to look at. Rooms are kept clean and cosy.Rooms: 5/5
This is a little gem of a B&B. Great location, and ample street parking for the car. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. I used the guest house while studying for exams at the local college, and the room was fit for this purpose. Plenty space, en-suite, fridge/freezer and the usual accompanying items. The rooms are clean and well looked after. Have used this place a few times in the last 8 years or so, and is always first place I check for availability. Never normally write reviews but this place deserves a mention
Close to the beach, free parking, which is a bonus. Close to all sorts of things to do. Another bonus is the separate dining room, so you won't have to eat in the room. We had an ensuit room, clean, good beds, and everyday beds are made and litter taken away. Nearby activities: Beach and 20/30 minutes from Newcastle city centre Walkability: Close to beach and activities. Close to metro or shops
Room was a bit on the small side but spotlessly clean. We were room only so never got to see anyone. They had thought of everything from hairdryer, iron to real milk for your tea.Rooms: 3/5
We booked in last minute after another reservation fell through. We were greeted by a friendly face & shown to our good sized room. The room en-suite facilities were in clean and to a good standard and the price to our liking. I was sharing a room with my 2yo son who was in bed for 7pm so the smart tv and free wifi was much appreciated. Would stay again if I'm in the area.
Owner and Staff are extremely helpful. Given same room rent, I would prefer to stay here than anywhere else. Only non-smoking rooms available. But sitting arrangement in the front yard for smokers. Movie posters inside the property worth a mention. Rooms: Tidy and neat. Well maintained. Good quality linen. Perfect window blinds and nice curtains Nearby activities: Sea beach, walking trail, museums, shopping, great food. This area is full of history. At least a whole year would be required to explore all the activities available here. Safety: Rooms an front door is secured with PIN entry system. CCTV monitoring. Highly secured. Walkability: Fully accessible Food & drinks: Breakfast is to be ordered preceding night. Lots of food and drinks option available at short stroll.. Noteworthy details: Book before arriving. It will cost less and rooms can be chosen as required.
