Great place. Market on there on a Tuesday and a Saturday. Went to weatherspoons for lunch then went to pictures love it here come here every week. Well worth a visit.
Ankerside is supposed to close at 6PM, however they actually shut every entrance except one as soon as the clock hits 5:30PM & then don't let anyone else in. After we had visited a number of stores in Ankerside on Saturday, we were just about to leave via the west entrance approximately 5:30pm when a security guard bluntly told us to "turn around" and leave via the other exit. We then passed another security guard who seems to be ordering fried chicken on the phone..., both of them then followed us, like we were some sort of criminals. If you state that you close at 6PM, don't start locking doors and kicking people out half an hour before, just admit you want to slack off home and change your opening hours.
The shopping centre is good it's kept clean unfortunately there are still empty shops and a lot of non-essentials well we don't actually have a supermarket in town that's all and yet they have a great big empty retail area which could be filled if the rates were decent enough to encourage people to try it and bring a supermarket into the area
A bright and clean place to shop. It is just a shame that so many of the units are standing empty at the moment May 2017. A few big chains are here, but a lot of them have been and gone.. Update Jan 2024 the large Boots store in Ankerside will be closing in March 2024.
some chain shop, clean & tidy, would like to take some pictures of cute stuff of shopping mall, unfortunately it’s not allowed, told by a security gentleman. Parking fee is reasonable and near Tamworth castle, nice location.
Nice place, considering the town itself is looking a bit sad and tired. Ankerside it's clean tidy and well staffed a very attractive location, nice cheap carpark and the lifts work
Anyone from Tamworth will be able to point out the slow decline of the town center. Ankerside is a prime example of shopper heading out of town. Long standing empty units, card shops and vapes are what awaits you these days. While it had a lick of paint which helps brighten it up it's sad that more can't be done to attract shoppers back. Bring back Fosters menswear, wh Smith and Our Price.
I am a regular visitor here. It is always clean and the people are really friendly. You can find things you didn't even know you wanted.
Ankerside really had taken a massive hit recently leaving the city center desolate , once a well refined shopping centre with loads of choice to suit all preferences now current day to Empty units and limited options for "shopping" even with all the decline you have to stay optimistic for the current regeneration of the local catchment area under the funding secured.
Sadly another shopping mall that is gradually going to disappear. No real incentive to visit, Boots have recently closed and you have to pay for parking. Same as the Saddlers centre in Walsall
