Probably one of my favourite Indians for taste and the most friendly service I've had but let down by the drastic need for some decorative TLC. This is more local Indian and it's quality is really up there but too much have I seen this place's decor decline in quality. Each time I go in there is more wallpaper missing or the fridge is broken. I really worry for the place as it just needs some slight investment and marketing to flourish once again.
sorry, but a big disappointment. after reading reviews I was looking forward to this place; presentation was fine but the food was bland. it was a Friday evening and not at all busy...not a good sign...and no other 'asian' patrons....another bad sign. our starters took a long time to arrive and while we were eating, the waiter disturbed us twice to ask if we wanted to order mains. we then had to wait ages for anyone to come and take our order. service was not good - the waiters didn't smile and I didn't feel welcome. if you like your Indian food authentic and hitting the spot, I wouldn't recommend. i feel it caters for those who want a 'version' of real indian food. and although décor is not that important to me, seeing paint worn off right across the wall where the chairs had scraped it, was off-putting. i'm giving one star for presentation and one star for only one friendly waiter who showed us how he makes the pretty serviette design.
Poor food quality. They call themselves Indian restaurant but it was nowhere close to it. The Motor Paneer we ordered had raw peas not even mildly spicy. The prawns dish was too sweet, should’ve kept it for dessert. Our queries about the food were responded to with sarcasm by the waiter. For a restaurant that hails as an Indian restaurant, you have clearly never been to an actual Indian restaurant and Experienced the Indian hospitality.
Good food and excellent staff. Can't go wrong here. Consistently good. My regular go to place. All my friends love it. Reasonably priced, and excellent special offers early week. Yummy place for food. They also know which table I like.
Ordered a takeaway specifically asking for very little oil. When I got it home, the dishes were literally swimming in oil. There was a huge layer of oil on top. I managed to spoon off around 6 tablespoons of oil of each dish. This left very little sauce to the dishes and they were still greasy. Not enjoyable. I don't remember it being like this a couple of years ago when I dined in. Shall not return, very poor.
Have been a regular customer at Anjums for years and have NEVER been disappointed with the food nor the service. The food is consistently delicous and the staff are amazing. Not just do they look after customers so well, they also support the community in such a big way and always with a big heart. We are forever grateful for everything they do for our school :-
Please order at least one main dish, else you'll be asked to walk away, it doesn't matter if you eat light, the concept of avoiding food wastage doesn't apply here. And if you are two, you will be expected to order two main dishes, despite the fact we gave them business of over £15 that evening. When questioned on this rule, I was told that this is a common rule at all other restaurants and if there isn't such rule, the restaurant's quality isn't good enough. They seemed to developed some grudge for us which was taken out on the food served to us, absolutely unacceptable quality. Scrapped furniture, worn out walls, cash only tax evasion??. If you are reading this, you had it coming.
Excellent food, good prices and service with a smile. Really impressed and free corkage meant the drinks from round the corner at Tesco didn't break the bank either. Recommended.
First time using Anjums through just eat and I loved. it arrived at my requested time on time amazing rojan curry, onion baji are delicious very generous with the extra sauces provided nan and popidum where all fresh onion salad was very small though overall it was great quality for the money definitely be returning again soon to try out some of the other currys.
Most delicious, freshly prepared Indian food in this area! Excellent value for money when ordered as meal set! Quick and friendly service. Recommend!
